‘Rambo 5’ Would Have Seen John Rambo as a Misplaced Character in a Middle East Terrorism Plot, Say Critics!

But it would be an entirely different scenario now that he is already nearing 70. Things in the production would really be far different than the last time.

While his last action film was “The Expendables 3” shown in 2014, it was not a solo act for Sly but an ensemble of some of the most popular action stars to have graced Hollywood both in the past and in the present. So it was not as taxing for him during the production as it was during the filming of “Rambo 4.”

After his depth in acting was noticed in the “Rocky” spinoff movie “Creed,” Stallone may have realized that he was better off doing more of such type of movies rather than go on another action-packed film like “Rambo 5.”

“Creed” starred Michael B. Jordan as the son of Apollo Creed, and has been directed by Ryan Coogler. The movie also proved to be a box-office hit aside from being critically acclaimed, notes the Den of Geek.

Stallone won the Best Supporting Actor award for the movie at the Golden Globes early this year. He also got the nomination from the 2016 Academy Awards for the same category but he did not win.
