An iconic “Rambo” character deserves nothing but a big windup and a closure and it seems that the fourth movie entitled “John Rambo” already did that when he finally returned home to the US after another mission in the military junta-run country of Burma. It went back to the beginning because that was how it started in the first place with the first movie in the series entitled “First Blood.”
The first movie of the franchise was released in 1982 while the fourth movie was shown in 2008. That was already a span of 26 years and another movie to be shown in 2018, would make John Rambo spending all his 36 years of life doing the same thing all over again, which no longer makes sense.
“First Blood” started it all but it was the second movie shown in 1985 which catapulted the franchise to newfound heights.
The third and fourth movies simply joined the bandwagon and built on to the legacy of the Rambo character.
There were reports last year saying that “Rambo 5” was being considered by veteran Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone after he officially made an announcement late in 2014 that the movie was a go.
The hype about “Rambo 5” lasted all the way to the end of 2015 but came the entry of 2016, Stallone publicly came out to say that he is done with the franchise and that he can no longer do another film about his iconic character.
