What seems clear at this point is that the fifth movie of the iconic “Rambo” film franchise and the iconic character John Rambo, played in all four movies by Sylvester Stallone, is now done and over with as the veteran action star decided early this year that it is a no-go.
While Stallone still has it in him, he no longer wants to come up with a half-baked movie which may give a negative impression of the character.
Critics believe that it would have been great if “Rambo 5” was greenlit and filming started this year. The movie would have been released next year to mark the 35th year of the franchise.
It can be recalled that the first movie of the franchise, entitled “First Blood” was released to theaters in October 1982.
It was actually Stallone himself who announced late in 2014 that “Rambo 5” was a go but after a year later, he changed his mind and decided to forego doing a fifth movie of the iconic franchise.
He was quoted as saying that if he has gone to do “Rambo 5,” it would be similar to old fighters who go back for one last fight in the ring and get clobbered in the process. Stallone added that it would be better if he would just leave the character to someone else who is a lot younger than him, details Yibada.
