After the release of Prometheus in 2012, there were a lot of talks about a possible sequel. Finally, Fox has come out with the announcement that Prometheus 2 is on its way and is looking for a 2016 release.
There are a lot of speculations regarding the release date, plot and the action that will unfold. The first good official news is that Ridley Scott is going to be directing the film. In an interview, Scott has said that Prometheus 2 is going to start from where the last film ended.
Prometheus ended with everyone, except Doctor Elizabeth Shaw dead. This film then would pick up to show what happens to Doctor Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace. Michael Fassbender’s David, who is a Droid will be reunited with parts of his body.
Doctor Shaw had realized that David was a very dangerous droid, and although he ends up with a severed head, he persuades her to put it back on him. Scott says that it’s better to have a known devil with you when out in space, rather than encounter things alone.
In the prequel of Prometheus 2, Rapace’s character, Doctor Shaw and her team realize that the Engineers intend to wipe the human race. At the end of the film, even when Rapace loses her entire team, she decides to go to search for the Engineers and find out why they plan to exterminate the humans.
Doctor Shaw is scared of David. She has realized that even though she has to be careful of David, she will not be able to launch the spaceship without him. The evil creatures called Xenomorph hold a lot of secrets. The patterns and strange occurring, make Shaw curious. She has been hurt and is angry, and she wants to know answers.
Initially, there was a rumor that Prometheus 2 will not have the Xenomorphs, but Scott has since then confirmed it and said that almost fifteen drafts of the script have been worked on.\
Ridley Scott said that Prometheus 2 will not have the Xenomorphs because there is not much you can do with the snarling creatures. The plot has an interesting turn with the Engineers, and he has decided to focus only on that line.
When quizzed, Rapace has revealed nothing, saying that Scott is a director who never lets anything out even to his actors. Whatever he plans he keeps inside his mind. Rapace has asked the media not to enquire anything about the plot, apart from what the director has revealed on his own, because it will be a wasted effort.
Do you think Doctor Elizabeth Shaw will be able to meet the Engineers in Prometheus 2? Leave behind your comments.

I loved the first movie and in my opinion is by far the best alien movie I have seen. It was not just about going around killing aliens or vice versa but an interesting concept of how humans were created. It raises questions on why humans were created and then why the aliens would want to kill humans. So many scenarios can be played out in the sequel and it is killing me in knowing how the director is going to move forward with the plot. Did the aliens create us then realize it was a mistake or is it only some of the aliens that hate humans? so many questions that need to be answered. I am also interested on how Doctor shaw plans on dealing with the aliens if they all want the human race destroyed. Maybe she uses their own Bio weapons against them or maybe other scenarios can be played out. excellent first movie and can not wait to see the sequel.
I liked the first film but I feel there were many questions left unanswered and the overall ending was very ambiguous. I wish they delved into the engineers back story a bit more.
A sequel would be great but they are taking quite awhile to get started on it. The time gap might cause people to forget about the film. Also Michael Fassbender is very much in demand and he has several films lined up including the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Adaptation. If the film ever gets off the ground, I hope that it’s not as ambiguous as the first.
The more time it takes to make the sequel hopefully translates in to a better movie. This has been true in the past.
I totally agree with you! I loved Prometheus, but I truly hated the “nonending” & the giant holes in the plot. In the scene where Dr Shaw finally meets the surviving Engineer & within a minute most of the humans are killed, then the Engineer just leaves! D
I’ve just watched Promethius again and enjoyed it as much as when I first watched it. I would do exactly what Dr Shaw was planning to do even if it meant risking my life – my curiosity would be overwhelming. Rapace is such a good actress and her character in the film has strength so we know she’s got a good chance of surviving. I look forward to the sequel and although it might be a long time coming I’d be happy to watch the first film again to refresh my memory when the time comes.
For god’s sake don’t hire Lindelof again.
