Producers in a State of Panic Over the Latest James Bond Movie, Daniel Craig Hasn’t Confirmed His Involvement Yet!

The story of the next movie belonging to the James Bond franchise has been doing the rounds post-Spectre hit theaters. It has been more than a year since then and still no concrete news about another James Bond movie.

The studio is eager to get Daniel Craig for at least one more jab at the 007 title. As of yet, it appears that the producers of the movie are as much as in the dark as the common audience about the commencement of the said film.

According to the flying rumors, the next James Bond movie might be neck deep in troubles.

In a report by the British gossip site, The Sun, a few anonymous sources, who happen to be at the heart of the matter said that the producers are outright panicking regarding this 25th installment of James Bond. The producers of the movie are trying to secure the release date of the movie for the month of October in the year 2018.

Daniel Craig hasn’t yet voiced his commitment to the franchise with a binding contract. There has hardly been much contact between Daniel’s party and MGM.

However, in the statement provided by the insider, the source revealed that MGM and Daniel Craig are at an impasse, with Daniel not having spoken to the studio about appearing in the next Bond installment.

MGM after offering the actor a deal with bigger numbers has asked about the actor’s availability in the upcoming year, 2017, to his representatives. Daniels assent and involvement with the movie is a key feature, which would determine if Sony Pictures will step up at the film’s co-producer.

The problem, however, is this that while MGM wants Bond 25 to be released by October of 2018; they have no clue about the availability of their Bond, or any knowledge about the film dates, or if they will change.

Sony and MGM have had a very fruitful partnership throughout the Daniel Craig era of James Bond flicks, with 2012’s Skyfall being the high spectrum of that co-operation. The movie was welcomed with a lot of commendation from fans and critics alike.Skyfall was the also first movie in the franchise to ever transcend the $1 billion benchmark at the box office.

The storyline of Spectre was a bit different, the verdict regarding Spectre was divided amongst its fans and critics, so it was understandable that it could not match up to the height of Skyfall at the box Office. However, it still was able enough to generate revenue to the likes of $880 million.

However, what got the most attention was not the movies revenue numbers but Daniel Craig’s comment in an interview after the film’s shooting came to an end. He stated that he would prefer slitting his wrists than doing another James Bond movie, given the exhaustion one has to go through for the shooting.

James Bond

The movie took a toll on the actor which led him to say so, however, he was quick to take back those words in another interview where he stated that he would look forward to doing another Bond film in the future.

He said on the day the shooting of Spectre wrapped up that everyone is a bit tired and that he had been away from home for a year because of the project. Although, as far as he is concerned he will keep playing Bond as long as he gets a kick out of it.

He feels that he has the best job in the world and he enjoys it if he stops doing it he would terribly start missing it.
