Fans of “Rookie Blue” got a bit of a shocking revelation when Andy revealed that she is pregnant and the baby is Sam’s – at the time, Sam was just trying to build a new relationship with his girlfriend Marlo, and the news understandably came as a shock to everyone involved – except perhaps Andy herself. And of course, fans immediately jumped on the theory that it’s a false pregnancy scare, or that the baby isn’t actually Sam’s.
And while fans have been discussing those theories in detail, the show’s executive producer Tassie Cameron has decided to step in and put an end to the arguments. Cameron explained that the baby truly is Sam’s, but the producers of the show aren’t going to try reviving old relationships with this plot line. They rather want to do a “life triangle” instead of a love one.
With that in mind, we could see the relationship between Sam and Marlo continuing, even though they’ll have a very rocky road ahead of them if that’s the case. There has been a recent report according to which Andy tells Marlo that she doesn’t want to get between her and Sam, and she’s just trying to do her job.
We also saw a trailer for season 6 which showed Marlo going totally crazy over some personal issues in her life. The trailer shows her investigating a case about a missing girl, leading up to the father saying that the family would prefer to handle the situation privately. In response, Marlo starts screaming that this is his family and he needs to protect them, even though that’s what he seems to be doing, just in his own way.
Later on, we can see her breaking down in tears in front of Sam, telling him she has no idea how to “do this”. It’s not clear what exactly she was talking about, however – her job or her current situation with Sam who will soon become a father to a child from another woman. They both work as police officers and that puts their lives at risk as well, which further complicates the situation between them.
There have been rumors that the show might end after season 6, even though producers haven’t said anything about that yet. The rumors started when it was revealed that season 7 hasn’t been ordered yet, which led many to believe that the new season isn’t coming at all. However, until the producers of the show decide to confirm or deny these rumors, we won’t know for sure.
