When it comes to buying a car, the most important thing is going to be the pricing. That goes without saying and no matter what vehicle you are talking about, it will get the most attention.
The folks at Mazda must have taken that into consideration when deciding what price to list the 2015 Mazda MX-5 at.
The newest Mazda MX-5 is a small, rear-world-drive with just two seats and a top that can be cranked back while cruising in the summertime.
The Mazda has always been somewhat affordable, but according to recent reports, the 2015 model is going to be given a price that is more consumer friendly.
Part of the reason that the Mazda needs to have better pricing is that it will be expected to compete directly with the Toyota 86 and the Subrau BRZ when it hits the market.
The car is sporty and small and there is still a market out there for young people that would like to purchase exactly that.
The current MX-5 model comes with a price tag that reads $47,200 and the younger crowd might have a little harder time making the payments, but those that just had their children finally move away will be looking right at it.
The sports car is small, but comfortable according to reports and the convertible hardtop is something that gets attention just about anywhere the car goes.
In order to compete with the Toyota 86, the price is going to have to be closer to $30,000 for the base model with upgraded models going up from there.
The Toyota 86 comes priced at just $29,999 with a manual transmission, but that is not a convertible.
With that being said, the convertible topped 2015 MX-5 is expected to start low enough for even the younger crowd to purchase without any issues.
Mazda might not be able to compete directly with Toyota or Subaru, but bringing the price down more than $10,000 on the base model is a good start to getting some attention.
When the Miata first showed up back in the 1980’s it was a big hit and did not have much competition for the same size car.
It won British sports car lovers over in no time with its very low to the ground stance and sporty appearance.
To this day, the car is only just starting to get some competition from other car makers that see the potential of making a small, sports car for the younger crowd.
