Freeform has finally announced that the second half of the seventh and final season of “Pretty Little Liars” will premiere on April 18, 2017.
The announcement was made through the show’s official Twitter page along with a photo of the five leads stars.
Fans will remember that the Season 7A finale of “Pretty Little Liars” ended in August, making it eight months of hiatus – the longest the show has taken in its run.
It was during that time that series creator Marlene King announced via Facebook Live that the show will end after Season 7.
Most of the upcoming episode titles have already been released. It was also revealed that Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer, will be helming the 15th episode of Season 7.
On the show’s Facebook page, the last seasons are being commemorated through a throwback of all of A’s messages to the girls, as well as photos from early seasons.
Freeform added in a press release that the final 10 episodes will include a wedding for more than one main characters. The show will also close with a two-hour episode, followed by a one-hour tell-all special.
Last month, the cast and crew wrapped up filming and have all said their emotional goodbyes to everyone. The show wrapped up with a Halloween party.
Speaking to AOL recently, Bellisario said that filming the finale was really intense. Shay Mitchell, who plays Emily Fields in the TV series, even posted an emotional goodbye video on YouTube. In the video, Shay explains how the show has changed her life and how it will always be a huge part of her.
Following the Season 7B premiere, Freeform’s “Famous in Love” will have its season premiere. The new show stars Bella Thorne and also counts “Pretty Little Liars” creator Marlene King as executive producer.
The final 10 episodes will answer many of the burning questions the show had built up for years. Obviously, Spencer survived her gunshot. However, there are so much more questions to be answered.
First, how Spencer came to be Mary Drake’s second child and Charlotte’s sister will be explored. A question that springs in relation to that is who is Spencer’s real father and how did she end up with the Hastings.
Toby and Yvonne’s fate will also be revealed in the April 18 premiere although King had long hinted that Toby made it out alive in the accident.
The showrunner started sharing scripts for the series finale to commemorate what she did months before the series aired its pilot season.
Apparently, it wasn’t Jenna who shot Spencer and fans will know who shot her as well as who took Jenna away.
The last 10 episodes will also deal with Allison’s pregnancy, and the future of Ezra and Aria’s relationship now that Nicole has been confirmed to be still alive.
Old faces will also return such as Melissa Hastings, Paige, Jenna, Wren, Lucas, and even Charlotte. Vanessa Ray, who plays the character was confirmed to return in the season finale.
The “Pretty Little Liars” moms will also return, possibly for the wedding, but Mr. and Mrs. Hastings were confirmed to have more screen time given Spencer’s back story.
This spawned rumors that her character might have faked her death and will be revealed to be alive. However, some say that it is going to be a flashback to the night of her death leading to answer who was her killer.
Another question that needs to be answered is the identity of Uber A. Fans will remember that Mona was revealed to be the first A, Charlotte was then revealed to be Big A, but the girls’ ultimate tormentor is yet to be unmasked.
