The answers just keep coming on the seventh season of “Pretty Little Liars.” Drew Van Acker’s Jason DiLaurentis just came back to Rosewood and revealed a lot of things that happened to him during the time jump.
Jason returns to town and is happy to reunite with Alison. He’s also kicked Mary Drake out now that he got a court order appointing him as Alison’s guardian.
Alison opposes the idea saying that while their estranged aunt was a reason she was institutionalized, she’s also the reason why she got out.
Ali reasons that Mary did help Elliott steal from her, but when Elliott was taking things too far, she did the right thing.
Jason’s return also unearthed things between her and Aria. Apparently, something happened between the two of them during the five-year time jump.
Jason agrees to keep quiet about this secret but he needs Aria’s help because it turns out that Alison’s bank account wasn’t just cleared out, money was stolen from the Carissimi group — money that Jason uses to help kids in Ethiopia.
Jason then invites Aria to an awkward family dinner which makes her sister suspicious. Things become interesting when Mary reveals that she saw Jason once when he showed up to his Aunt Carol’s house.
Jason was trying to spend the night there and surprisingly found his mom. Jessica refused to let him inside and now Jason understood why—her twin sister was there as well.
Mary said that she went there to ask her sister about her son and how he died. Jessica apparently did not give her any answers although she was aware that Charles was alive and was living as CeCe Drake.
When all the Liars are in The Radley celebrating Aria’s engagement, they all panic when they see police enter the hotspot thinking that they know about Elliott’s murder.
However, police were there to investigate the murder of Sara Harvey. By the end of episode 6, a maid entered Sara’s room and found her bloody and lifeless body in the bathtub.
They were all shocked to learn about Sara’s death and suspect Jenna to be the one behind it, but Jenna herself seems to be distraught about this. She is then seen talking to the police crying and shocked with the incident.
Spencer and Toby spent most of the episode together as well as Hanna and Caleb which delighted Spoby and Haleb fans.
Spencer approached Toby inquiring about the real reason Jenna’s back in town. Toby reveals that Jenna did not just return for his engagement, instead her step-sister seeks forgiveness.
It was then revealed through a flashback that Toby and Jenna reunited for a family vacation. Things were going well between them until Jenna tried to kiss Toby.
Toby then gets a call that Yvonne was attacked during a break-in at his airstream. The intruders apparently took some files Toby was working on particularly Mary Drake’s
As for Caleb and Hanna, the latter’s sleuthing attempt to snoop in Jenna’s room at The Radley turns out to be a bust.
Caleb also believes that Sara was murdered and is willing to steal Jenna’s lockbox key to investigate. He eventually gets the key letting Hanna and Spencer open the lockbox only to find out that the laptop they were looking for wasn’t there.
They find encrypted files about Mary Drake but Noel Kahn, who’s coincidentally back at Rosewood along with Jenna and Jason, enters the room.
The two were able to hide under the bed and watch as Noel puts the old Radley file on Mary into the lockbox.
Spencer who then met with Toby telling him that he and Yvonne need to leave town so they can be safe. This led to an emotional goodbye between the former couple.
Toby confessed that he started building the house in Rosewood for Spencer, but he also admits that he realized how much he cares for Yvonne when she was hurt. He says that they will move to a small town in Maine to start a family leaving Spencer in tears.
Hanna also comes clean to Caleb that she broke things off with Jordan because he noticed she wasn’t wearing her engagement ring anymore.
