Pretty Little Liars Season 6 to Continue with Even more Drama, Girls to Finally Face Villain, More Details

“Pretty Little Liars” just got really interesting and excited before the show had to go into a brief pause, and its fans are currently killing the time discussing what might happen in the future once the series resumes. Among the more interesting recent developments, the girls started to finally put together the identity of their villain, Charles DiLaurentis. They are yet to meet him face to face though, but it sounds like this is about to happen once the season resumes.

We last saw Charles abducting Alison, while Clark’s identity was revealed as an officer working undercover trying to get closer to Charles. However, he missed his opportunity to grab him, and the episode went on in a rather dramatic way. Alison got to see the true identity of Charles, and she seemed very surprised to find out who he was.

Of course, at this point we expect that it’s going to be someone that’s been right under our noses this whole time, and this show is definitely not one to shy away from surprising its fans. And yet, we have no idea who that might be, and fans have been actively discussing the many different theories that are on the table right now. There are some prominent theories going around, but nothing concrete so far.

One of the most popular theories is that Dr. Wren Kingston will be revealed as Charles, and there seems to be some plausibility to it, as the same user who made that claim also claimed that we’ll see Charles abducting Alison, which so far has come true.

There are also other points that fans want to see resolved, such as the identity of the Black Widow, Red Coat, as well as the whole motivation that Charles had for running this little game. Episode 10 is appropriately titled “Game Over, Charles”, implying that we’re finally going to see a resolution to all of this.

A synopsis for the finale of the season claims that the villain will actually go in detail about the motivation behind his actions, explaining exactly why he got so much pleasure out of torturing the girls, and how he became “A” in the first place.

It’s worth noting that some time will have passed when the second half of season 6 returns, and we’ll see the girls already moving on with their careers, and portraying somewhat different characters overall. According to the showrunners, this was a deliberate decision in order to allow their characters to develop a bit more, giving them some extra personality traits and focusing more on their career developments.

Still, they’re not going to be that different in their personalities, and fans should still be able to recognize all of their favorite characters in the new episodes. We’re not sure how their new places in life are going to reflect on their roles on the show, but we’re sure that the writers have planned for that very carefully.

The only hint that we got so far is that the girls will just be more grown-up versions of themselves, and they will not actually be that different from what we used to know once we look beneath the surface. Which, for most fans, sounds like a good plan, as everyone has gotten somewhat attached to the personalities of the girls in the way they were presented up until now. On the other hand, some additional development wouldn’t hurt either of course.
