Pretty Little Liars Season 6 Second Half to Start with a 5-Year Time Jump!

While everyone is probably still struggling to come to terms with the fact Cece Drake was revealed to be A, who’s actually Jason’s twin brother Charles DiLaurentis. Charles then turns out to be a transgender and changed his name to Charlotte, the summer of answers is finally over and fans can expect a more compelling and interesting story when ABC Family’s hit show “Pretty Little Liars” returns for the second half of its sixth season this fall.

Dubbed as 6B, it looks like the rest of the season will be filled with more lies, secrets, and mysteries for the Liars. Despite receiving an online backlash for A’s storyline, the plot of A/Charles DiLaurentis was finally wrapped up.

Viewers then got a glimpse of the girls after the time jump, but was left hanging when the final moments of episode 10 saw Aria, Hannah, Spencer, and Emily coming back to Rosewood to warn Allison of the trouble she’s in.

According to the International Business Times, 6B opens five years after the girls left Rosewood for college. Ironically, Allison stayed in their hometown, became a high school teacher, got married and is now called Mrs. Rollins. Also, Ali is trying to have a relationship with her troubled sister Charlotte. The girls return to Rosewood to reunite but it looks like their reunion is still tainted with A’s games.

Janel Parrish, who plays Mona, said in an interview that just like the first season, the girls all go back to Rosewood because of Ali as someone is after her. Fans didn’t get to see or hear who they were talking about but whoever that person is, fans hope that it’s not someone in a hoodie anymore with a lair full of creepy dolls.

ABC Family recently released a teaser trailer for Season 6 episode 11 and shows the girls after five years of being away from Rosewood and from each other. In the promo, Emily admits to Toby that she didn’t experience college like how she expected it to be.

Mona also returns and goes on to ask Spencer if she is still having nightmares. Aria and Ezra look like they still care for each other as Aria protests that Ezra did something to protect her. While not much is known about Hannah, it looks like she and Caleb are still going strong. The trailer then turns creepy as it cuts to clips of someone after the Liars.

Melty reports that executive producer Marlene King’s idea of moving forward five years after the events of A’s reveal and captivity might make things a bit clearer for the show. Putting an end to what seemed as an endless mystery of who A was, 6B allows the show to start fresh on a clean slate. Fans of the show also see the second half of the season as a redemption for the show to make up for the disappointing and mind-boggling A-reveal they did in the 6A finale.

Just like fans, stars of the show themselves are happy with the direction the show is heading. According to Design & Trend, the actresses are so excited that they finally have their characters closer to their real age. Shay Mitchell, who plays Emily is 28 years old, Lucy Hale, who plays Aria is 26, Ashley Benson, who portrays Hannah is 25 and Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer is 29 – all of them seemingly old to play high school students.

Speaking to MTV, showrunner King already confirmed that the Charlotte/Charles/A storyline is done with and that the girls will have a new big bad to face. The Liars return to Rosewood to hunt down whoever it is that is putting their lives in danger once again. Marlene adds that this new baddie will be much more dangerous than Charles.
