When “Pretty Little Liars” came back for Season 6B last week, it definitely showed fans that the TV series has indeed changed its course over the five-year time jump.
Episode 11 ended with a shocking twist as Vanessa Ray’s Charlotte a.k.a. A is finally free after five years in a mental facility thanks to the Liars, but things took a turn for the worst as Allison, played by Sasha Pieterse discovers her sister is now dead.
Episode 12 titled “Charlotte’s Web” was basically a continuation of torment for the girls and the fans as well as it pointed to an unlikely suspect in Charlotte’s case – Ezra Fitz.
In Season 6B, Ian Harding’s character has become a successful author but a brooding man after the disappearance and possible death of her girlfriend Nicole.
What’s interesting is that Aria, played by Lucy Hale, appears to know something about Charlotte’s murder more than she lets her friends on.
With a murder investigation underway, it seemed very suspicious that Aria decided to run back to Boston. She told the girls that it was for work but Hanna, played by Ashley Benson, knew better.
The night of Charlotte’s murder where the girls also spent the night getting drunk at The Radley, Hanna woke up and noticed that Aria was missing.
When Hanna confronted Aria about it, she totally lied in front of her friend’s face. Hanna knew Aria was lying as she had security footage of her and Ezra to prove it.
Aria, looking very much guilty, asks Hanna to delete the footage. Hanna tried her best not to but eventually ended up succumbing to Aria’s plea.
In a flashback, viewers found out that Aria called Ezra that night and they met. They walked around Rosewood until they came across Charlotte. The two were probably the last ones to see her alive.
Ezra was obviously angered with the fact that someone like her ex Nicole would go missing while someone as evil as Charlotte could walk the town freely.
This was where things got creepy. Ezra told Aria to go home, but based on his look, it is plausible that the former English teacher has gotten Charlotte’s blood on his hand.
Given the fact that Charlotte’s time of death was 4 am, it’s definitely possible that Ezra could have killed her.
It’s important to note that Mr. Fitz had a bad record once when it was revealed that he has been stalking the girls all along even suspecting that he was A.
It then turns out that it was his love for mystery novels that drove him to actually write about the girls and Allison’s murder.
Spencer, played by Troian Bellisario, seems certain that Ezra did kill their former tormentor. It is then revealed that Spencer and Ezra met during his book tour a few years ago and she happened to have shared to him her paper about a murder that seemed eerily similar to Charlotte’s.
With this, Spencer is sure that her paper has given Ezra an idea how to execute Charlotte’s murder.
While everybody in Rosewood is probably trying to guess who murdered Charlotte DiLaurentis, one Liar is having a dilemma of her own.
Shay Mitchell’s Emily is sick and she’s actually done a very good job of hiding it from her friends and even her mom.
Although it wasn’t stated that Em has cancer, the nurse at the hospital definitely alluded that she has.
Emily then bumped into Sabrina, who’s now running The Brew. Sabrina sensed that she was sick and shared that she too was diagnosed with cancer a few years back.
She then suggests that Emily tells her mom and friends about this. In the next episode’s preview, Emily comes clean about her health condition and Sabrina’s words definitely had a huge factor in that.
