Pretty Little Liars season 6 started back in June of last year and has been a major roller coaster from the beginning. The show is on ABC Family and has been getting great ratings since it first appeared there back in 2010. The second season ended in March of 2012 and recorded the highest ratings with more than 3.68 million viewers that watched the premiere, according to sources. Fans are happy to see the show continue and knowing the show has already been picked up for a seventh season is even better news.
The show has won plenty of awards includes Teen Choice Awards, Banff Television Festival awards, Young Hollywood Awards, People’s Choice Awards and MTV Fandom Awards over the years. The first five seasons have already been released on DVD with the sixth expected to be released within the next year. Pretty Little Liars season 6 was ordered in two parts and according to reports, a behind-the-scenes special was not going to be included like in previous seasons.
In October of last year, that changed when it was announced at New York Comic Con that the special episode would be put between the first half and the second half of the season which was last week. With the second half of the season underway, fans are looking ahead as to what they might be able to expect next season. The show is still ranking near the top for those in the 18-49 age range.
The second half of Pretty Little Liars season 6 will feature episodes titled “The Gloves Are On”, “New Guys, New Lies”, We’ve All Got Baggage” and “Did You Miss Me?” just to name a few. So far, the sixth season has been reviewed very well by critics and that is expected to continue into the seventh season. According to interviews with the cast, there will be more sex scenes in the show and that might be a result of the characters growing up over the last few seasons. The cast describe the sixth season with one hashtag and that was “#sexytime”. Others included #happyhour and #spencerbangs.
The cast also revealed that the parents will be playing more of a role in this season. Fans noticed this throughout the first half of the season and that is expected to continue through the end. The cast was careful not to reveal too much about the parents, leaving plenty of speculation for fans to come up with on their own. The bullying that the cast endured from “A” over the last few seasons has been a point of strength for the group, according to cast members. Clearly, the show touches on topics that are felt throughout the world by young people in this generation and bullying, sadly, is one of them.
