‘Power Rangers’ Expected to Do Well in Asia More than the North American Box Office

Lionsgate Films through Warner Bros has released the first international trailer of “Power Rangers” and it did not give too much of the movie away.

But it seems to hint that the movie will trace back to the original TV show’s roots a little with some changes of course.

The trailer, as expected, featured adventurous teens, mysterious alien rocks, and a symbolic hair-cutting.

With the international trailer of “Power Rangers” already out, critics are of the opinion that the movie would fare a lot better in the Asian box office compared in North America when it officially comes out in global theaters on March 24, 2017.

There has not been a trailer, teaser or photo of Zordon, reported to be played by Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston, or his assistant Alpha-5, details Screen Crush.

Maintaining the air of mystery

The fact that the trailer did not offer any obvious hint means that that the producers wanted to keep the air of mystery to the plot.

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove and the world is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.

Chosen by destiny, the heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

There is an interesting facet to the upcoming “Power Rangers” that some critics have noted, the Power Rangers costumes will not be wearable, as they become part of the transformation or morphin time of the teenagers into the Power Rangers.

It also showed that the Rangers’ coins are a source of the team’s powers, which somehow mimic the overall appearance of the Infinity Stones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, rather than having that gold hue, notes Highsnobiety.

A heads up on the characters

Incidentally, Lionsgate Films is working hard to promote the upcoming “Power Rangers” movie, which is due to hit theaters on March 24, 2017.

As part of its efforts, the production company has just launched a viral site at www.angelgrovehighschool.com in order to provide fans a heads up on the characters of the film so that they are better prepared when the film makes it to the cinemas next year.

The viral site went live shortly and it provides an inside look at Angel Grove High School. The site is called ‘The Roar’ and features several new images.

The site actually has plenty of new content, including new photos of, and details about, the teenage heroes.

There’s a breakdown of Kimberly Hart’s Fall Fashion, consisting of Faux-Leather Asymmetrical Zip-Up Vest, Satin Blouse, Faux Leather Ankle Booties, Women’s Leaf Pendant Long Necklace, and Imitation Leather Skirt.

There’s a story about how Jason Scott, the star quarterback for the Tigers, was suspended for the remainder of the football season after a prank gone wrong.

There is also Trini telling the school’s newspaper that she’s upset that people consider her the new kid even though she’s been in school for over a year already.

The website also shows Zack brandishing his guns in another post. There is also a report of the cafeteria closing after a crazy food fight. Then there is an article about how academically gifted Billy Cranston really is.

Saban’s “Power Rangers” stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott a.k.a. the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston a.k.a. the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan a.k.a. the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor a.k.a. the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart a.k.a. the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.

A new image of Elizabeth Banks as the malevolent space witch, Rita Repulsa, has recently surfaced online, giving a side-profile of her green, spiked armor.

The film is being directed by Dean Israelite and was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
