Porsche Rolls Out High-Performance 2015 Cayman GT4

German carmaker Porsche has unveiled the latest addition to its line of very reputable luxury sports car under its prestigious GT high performance models.

The 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 rolled out from the assembly plant recently and is now available for sale at Porsche centers in the UK and Ireland, reports Overdrive.

It will also be formally introduced to the entire motoring world during the 85th International Motor Show, Palexpo to be held at Geneva, Switzerland on March 5 to 15.

The Porsche Cayman is a rear mid-engined rear-wheel drive two-seater luxury sports car. It was first launched in 2006 as a coupe derived from Porsche’s second and third generation Boxter roadster.

A focused GT model

The Cayman GT4 marks the first time that the German carmaker introduce such a focused GT model based on the Cayman coupe.

The GT4 is powered by a mid-mounted 3.8-liter flat-six engine capable of giving off 385 horsepower at 7,400 revolutions per minute so it really packs a punch under the hood.

With a standard six-speed manual transmission equipped with dynamic mounts, the 2015 Porsche Cayman can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers in 4.4 seconds. It has an amazing top speed of 293 kilometers per hour so the luxury sports car is really fast.

In fact, it has a lap time of seven minutes and 40 seconds around the Nurburgring Norschleife which emphatically places the 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 as the new benchmark among luxury sports cars.

In terms of body, the 2015 Cayman GT4 resembles the components, features, and genetic spirit of the iconic 911 GT3.

As far as its interiors are concerned, the 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 features leather- and Alcantara-upholstered seats. Because of its compact dimension, the GT4 sports steering wheel allows the driver ideal control and direct feedback.

The engine, chassis, brakes and aerodynamic features of the 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 are configured for maximum driving dynamics. But the base model still retains the versatility and usability that are typical of Porsche vehicles.

These sports cars are being developed at the company’s Motorsport department in Weissach, Germany.
