Following reports last month that Pornhub intends to purchase from Twitter its social media site Vine, the most popular porn site in the world appears determined to continue its diversification.
Just recently, Pornhub has produced the music video of American rapper Mykki Blanco for his track “Loner” and just like any Pornhub production, it turned out to be an intense experience.
The music video for “Loner” turned out to be unsurprisingly steamy and features models who are engrossed by whatever it is they can see on their virtual reality headsets, notes the Independent of UK.
Pornhub produced the music video in collaboration with the fashion brand Nicopanda but typical with its video products, it was slightly NSFW too.
Over the last few years, the adult film industry has started to venture into the world of music more directly.
In a recent interview, Corey Price, vice president of Pornhub, said that their unique platform enables musicians to reach a more diverse audience. He explained that when artists premiere videos on the Pornhub platform, they open up additional avenues through which they gain exposure and visibility.
For his part, Blanco said that “Loner” is a song about misunderstanding and a universal feeling of not feeling worthy enough or not good enough. He said that the song is part of his efforts to tell his audience who he really is inside.
Taking Vine off Twitter’s hands
Last month, Corey Price wrote a letter of intent to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey offering to take Vine off Twitter’s hands and into the right hands of millions all over the globe, reports Esquire.
In his letter, Price said that since Twitter has dropped Vine and is having significant layoffs, he said that Dorsey and the stakeholders of the company could certainly benefit from a cash infusion by selling Vine.
He also said that in the process, Pornhub shall be able to save Vine gems including “Damn Daniel,” “Awkward Puppets,” and many more.
Price also assured Dorsey that they will restore Vine to its NSFW glory, adding that six seconds is more than enough for most people to enjoy themselves.
Meant to be a cruel jab
While the offer of Pornhub appears to be legit, some analysts think that it all sounds like a good old prank or a cruel jab to Twitter, which is downright funny.
According to them, the porn site’s purported offer to buy Vine seems to be just a joke and not a real business proposal especially considering that Price pointed out Twitter’s recent turmoil and made his letter public even before Dorsey can make his formal response.
They added that the proposal seems to be nothing more than a swipe at Twitter and its plan to shut down Vine.
The same analysts explained that even if it was a legitimate acquisition offer, it would be almost impossible for Twitter to agree to sell Vine to Pornhub as the latter might turn its short NSFW video pool into something pornographic.
However, a spokesman at Pornhub disclosed that the offer to buy Vine was not a joke but a completely legitimate business proposal. He added that the offer made by Pornhub to Twitter was substantial enough to make Jack Dorsey seriously consider it.
Twitter has yet to make a formal response to Pornhub’s offer. Some critics also think that the business deal is definitely spicey so it would be interesting to find out how Twitter would respond to it.
There have been previous reports saying that Twitter is already in the throes of death but up until this time, the social media site is still operating, indicating that it could have gained lost ground already. But Vine is a different story altogether as it seems off the air already and just waiting to be revived.
