Pornhub has surprised everyone by coming out again with a Christmas advertising that many of those who have seen it say that it was an excellent commercial.
The adult site made its advertising debut last year with its safe-for-watching (SFW) spot about the dirty old man and his perfect present, which is to get millions of views on YouTube.
Apparently, Pornhub wants to do one better this year so it released its 90-minute Christmas commercial recently which was made by Madrid-based creative agency Officer & Gentlemen, reports Adweek.
The new advertisement of Pornhub takes place in a miniature town where all sorts of people are lonely on Christmas Eve.
But one by one, they receive the same present via e-mail and it brightens their lonely night considerably, which can be a hint of a Pornhub subscription.
The new advertisement is also SFW and it gives a special nod to the Super Bowl-like evolution of Christmas into an advertising showcase.
The spot also references famous characters from famous Christmas ads of the past years including Justino, the Spanish lottery’s mannequin factory worker, and the Man on the Moon, from last year’s John Lewis spot.
Corey Price, Vice President of Pornhub, said that after the success of the Pornhub advert last year, the company wanted its Christmas campaign to become a hallmark of the Holiday Season for the whole family.
Price also stated that Pornhub has decided to go big as they also know that Christmas ads are a big thing all over the world.
Pornhub has been exploring SFW advertising for a few years now, and the new spot is definitely well produced. But they couldn’t resist a tagline that’s more naughty than nice when it mentioned ‘Have yourself a horny little Christmas.’
A cheeky commercial
Critics believe that Pornhub’s commercial is cheeky and it is entitled “Lonely Night,” which features folks cheered up via the gift of free porn, reports the Daily Star of UK.
The big budget advert was uploaded to YouTube on December 8 and has already been viewed over 25,000 times.
And it seems to have gone down well with fans with one user saying: ‘Thanks, Pornhub and Merry Christmas for all lonely people!’
Many adult web pages are currently accessible without the need for age verification but it looks likely to end in the UK next year.
The new plans would give the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) powers to block all porn sites, based anywhere in the world, which did not verify ages.
Although UK based sites already have strict guidelines on age, global websites such as Pornhub and RedTube don’t currently have to follow these rules.
These unregulated sites have become increasingly popular over recent years with Pornhub receiving 18.35 billion visits per year alone.
Going into music video production again
Just recently, Pornhub has produced the music video of American rapper Mykki Blanco for his track “Loner” and just like any Pornhub production, it turned out to be an intense experience.
The music video for Loner turned out to be unsurprisingly steamy and features models who are engrossed by whatever it is they can see on their virtual reality headsets.
Pornhub produced the music video in collaboration with the fashion brand Nicopanda but typical with its video products, it was slightly not-safe-for-watching (NSFW) too.
Over the last few years, the adult film industry has started to venture into the world of music more directly.
In a recent interview, Corey Price said that their unique platform enables musicians to reach a more diverse audience. He explained that when artists premiere videos on Pornhub platform, they open up additional avenues through which they garner exposure and visibility.
For his part, Blanco said that “Loner” is a song about misunderstanding and a universal feeling of not feeling worthy enough or not good enough. He said that the song is part of his efforts to tell his audience who he really is inside.
