Popcorn Time Sends Out Update For Windows And Mac Users!

Popcorn Time might sound like your favorite part about a movie, but on the internet it has a different meaning. The Popcorn Time application could be used in conjunction with apps like Netflix if you wanted to stream movies and television shows from around the world. The one thing about Popcorn Time was that it was giving users access to unauthorized versions of new episodes or movies that have not been released at this time. As soon as Popcorn Time was released the internet was buzzing about the product and it was getting plenty of media attention which can be taken one way or another.

The developers that put the application together did not want he attention for obvious reasons and quickly removed the app back in March of this year. Sources claim that it was taken down due to pressure from the Motion Picture Associate of America, but that did not stop other developers from picking up where the original left off by releasing the application along with new features.

The Popcorn Time application is very easy to use and the interface is just full of thumbnails that you can choose from. Once you decide what you want to watch, the streaming begins. Those that have been using the application know that it could use some updates. This week, those updates were sent out for Windows and Mac users, along with a promise to those that have iOS devices. The Windows version has been updated to beta 5.1 after the update to 5.0 was not working so well. One of the restored features would be the use of Chromecast to watch movies on your HDTV again.

The Mac beta version was also updated and should not be number 4.9.1. Mac has not been bumped up to 5.x yet and the company behind the app addressed that by saying they had to invest more time making sure Popcorn Time was not permanently shut down that took time away from Mac development. The developers are having issues with getting the webUI engine to work with Chromium, but a recent update to the software should have the problem resolved.

It looks like as long as the developers can stay on track, those that are using it on the Mac should be expecting the Popcorn Time 5.1 within the next 2 weeks. These minor updates came along with a promise to those on the iOS devices, saying that iOS beta 1.2 will be ready to download within the next 3 weeks. The update to the iOS app is going to come with free built-in VPN, Chromecast and Airplay support as well as fixes for a few noted bugs.
