The role-playing game “Pokemon Z” will feature Dark Mewtwo, the current sensation from the “Pokken Tournament.” The widely-anticipated game will also come out on the Nintendo 3DS with the mobile augmented reality game “Pokemon Go” in February 2016.
Reports also have it that there is a third but still unknown spinoff game that will be launched alongside “Pokemon Z” and “Pokemon Go,” notes Movie News Guide.
According to a report by Christian Today, the actual release date of “Pokemon Z” and “Pokemon Go” will be known when the Japanese CoroCoro gaming magazine comes out on December 15.
Some fans are predicting that the games could actually come out before the end of the current Holiday season so that they can capitalize on the consumer shopping frenzy.
The November issue of CoroCoro magazine promised its readers big news regarding the upcoming “Pokemon” games this month though the publication did not indicate what kind of news it will be dishing out about the game.
The next iteration of ‘Pokemon X’ and ‘Pokemon Y’
“Pokemon Z” is speculated as the next iteration of “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y,” which were developed by Game Freak, a subsidiary of The Pokemon Company, and released simultaneously on the Nintendo 3DS in October 2013.
What seems to be consistent among the speculations is that “Pokemon Z” would be released anytime in 2016 on the Nintendo 3DS, or about three years after its predecessor games were released to the same gaming platform.
Interestingly, there are reports saying that “Pokemon Z” will fuse the two legendary characters of “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y,” who are Xerneas and Yveltal, respectively, to form or join forces with Zygarde, the main character of the upcoming game.
Accordingly, Zygarde will somehow create a union with Xerneas and Yveltal, which surely had fans and gamers increasingly excited about the next role-playing game from Game Freak and is expected to be published again by Nintendo.
The rumors about the fusing of two characters from “Pokemon X” and “Pokemon Y” also appear to have a good leg to stand on because there have been leaks indicating that “Pokemon Z” has red cells on its left wing and blue cells on its right wing.
Latest reports also say that Zygarde will undergo a major evolution from a blob called Zygarde Core onto Zygarde Cell and finally into the mega-evolved Zygarde, which will take 10% of dog’s form, and 50% of the snake.
More about ‘Pokemon Go’
John Hanke from Niantic Labs, game developer of “Pokemon Go,” says that the game shall see Pokemon roaming free in the real world. Game Freak is also co-developing “Pokemon Go” with Niantics.
The game shall allow players to capture Pokemon who inhabits parks, shopping areas, sidewalks, countrysides, and various places all around the world.
He cited that gamers should expect to discover a Squirtle hiding at the waterfront in San Francisco, or a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station, or even Pikachu, hiding by the Eiffel Tower.
Hanke said that he would personally love to explore new places and can’t wait to play “Pokemon Go,” which shall be released for iOS and Android devices and shall be free to download.
“Pokemon Go” is the closest Pokemon world simulation as it mimics Pokemon catching, training, trading, and battling in the context of reality. Players who download the game on their mobile devices will receive instant notifications should there be a Pokemon within the vicinity.
There have been speculations as early as late in October that an announcement will be made about “Pokemon Go” and “Pokemon Z” last November 14.
The rumors stemmed from a tweet by Junichi Masuda, director of the main “Pokemon” games, who posted that he would be making an appearance on the Japanese TV show “Pokemon Get TV.”
Fans and gamers of the “Pokemon” video game franchise can very well remember that it was the CoroCoro magazine which first made the disclosure or leaks about “Pokemon Z” some months ago that is why it has become an unofficial source about the upcoming video game.
