Pokemon GO Continues to Take the World by Storm, Now Available in the UK!

We also expect to see a swarm of clones over the next few months. This game is all the rage now, and it’s highly likely that it’s already attracted the attention of many developers looking to make a quick buck.

But Niantic have a huge advantage in the amount of world data they already had available from “Ingress” to use in “Pokemon GO”, something which no other company could easily get their hands on. One could even say that “Ingress” was still highly useful to the company despite not reaching the level of popularity of its spiritual successor, as it still paved the way.

We’re definitely curious to see what Niantic could do with the title in the long run, and how popular it will remain a few months from now. Mobile games have a notorious problem with player retention, so those millions could quickly shrink without proper care for the community.

But the company already has a lot of experience managing their community relations, and they also have Nintendo’s support on top of that. Few things can go wrong for someone in that situation, so they basically have things sorted out for the moment. The only potential issue is if the studio becomes too complacent in their success and stops innovating, but we don’t have any reason to expect that for now. Quite the opposite, we should see a lot of activity on this front for many months in the future.
