Currently, the release date for the next film is listed as December 25, 2017, but it seems like the problems with the production of “Avatar 2” actually haven’t affected the development of the next installments in the franchise, as those are still on schedule.
What’s more, Cameron said that technology has improved quite a bit in the last years and his team has been able to benefit from that significantly, increasing the speed of their workflow by a large margin and giving them the ability to get their desired results much faster.
At the same time, they’re doing the design of all future films simultaneously, instead of approaching them on a one-by-one basis. This is also something that has added to the complexity of the work that has to be done, but for the most part it looks like Cameron and everyone else involved in the project are handling their job fantastically.
