PlayStation Plus Subscribers Hoping for Sony to Continue Releasing A-Titles Again in August!

The PlayStation Plus is a premium service for PlayStation gamers and Sony Computer Entertainment is hoping to keep its momentum of releasing A-titles next month and onward following a trend that the gaming company has started late last year.

The company has vowed that it will continue to invest in PlayStation Plus to ensure an unparalleled gaming experience to its subscribers, highlighted by the best quality games and features.

Sony announced in the second half of last year that there has been an increase in subscription fee in the European market but the company had no plan of effecting the same in North America or Asia in the immediate future.

The increase in the PlayStation Plus subscription fee came with reports that the PlayStation Network is getting flaky for most members these days with reports of regular outages, cloud storage issues, and slow download speeds.

Subscribers confirmed the increase on the monthly and quarterly subscription rate to the PlayStation Plus in the UK market.

However, in order to ensure that the subscribers do not raise their arms against the subscription fee increase, Sony has started releasing A-titles to the PlayStation Plus and the Japanese gaming company has not let up since.

Keeping up the onslaught

While Sony has not yet officially announced the titles of free games for August this year, there are rumors going around that “Yakuza 5” is going to be one of them, reports the Ecumenical News.

The rumor emanated when the title was seen being offered as a free download on the PlayStation Store recently. Accordingly, it was removed later on, but not before it was spotted by the online community.

Critics believe that it was a mistake because “Yakuza 5” was supposed to be an August free title.

In addition to “Yakuza 5,” fans are hoping that other A-titles should be offered free for the PlayStation Plus premium service which the company has been doing really well over the last couple of months.

Other upcoming A-titles

There are speculations that “Bloodborne” and “Infamous Second Son” could be the offered free games next month for the PlayStation 4. The same rumors are also saying that “Gran Turismo 5” shall come out on the PlayStation 3 which is timely since game developer Polyphony Digital is set to launch a new game, “Gran Turismo Sport,” at about the same time.

There are also reports saying that “God of War 3” shall come out as a free game on the PlayStation 3 next month and that reports are rife that a new installment is also on the way.

The PS Vita could also get “Dead or Alive” as a free title in August since the fifth installment of the series was released three years ago. It would somehow make good sense if the game will be featured on the console.

Other games doing the rounds in the rumor mills in the PlayStation Plus August lineup are “The Evil Within” and “Resident Evil.”

Gamers are advised not to put high expectations on A-titles for August and instead just allow themselves the free games on the PlayStation Plus premium service for the month of July.
