PlayStation Plus is still a beloved service for many PlayStation owners and Sony have really struck gold with this feature, as it’s been attracting people to the console on a regular basis. Sony are always offering a nice selection of games too, and they know how to please their fans on all sides, especially those who are a bit more pretentious to the kinds of games that they get to play. We’ve regularly seen a good mix of titles in the service and sometimes there are even some more special games thrown in there that really draw people in.
However, November was reportedly not such a good month for Sony and their service as they got some people disappointed with the state of the PlayStation Plus offers. In addition, the official announcement for the next games was delayed by a few days and this got many of their fans anxious, some even wondering if Sony had decided to pull the plug on PlayStation Plus.
Meanwhile, we’ve seen an alleged leak of the list of titles for December, and it paints the situation in a relatively good light as it looks like there will once again be a good mix between high grade games and smaller titles that should serve as an attractive feature for more casual gamers. The titles on the list include popular names like “Angry Birds” as well as “Little Big Planet 3”, and there are rumors that more games are coming too.
There have been some claims by publications that “Angry Birds” could indeed be a logical choice for December, as it will coincide with the release of the new “Star Wars”, and this will obviously get many people excited on both sides. It will work as a nice marketing feature for both the game as well as the new film, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Sony had some deal going on behind the scenes for this.
Further adding to this rumor, the “Angry Birds” film is supposed to come out in March too, so that could also give the company some opportunity for some promotion. Rovio are a studio that would definitely enjoy the idea of a little extra marketing for their own products, so they would likely easily agree to the suggestion.
On the other hand, having “Little Big Planet 3” in the mix will satisfy some gamers’ hunger for a major AAA title. This is something that many people have wanted to see in the list of PlayStation Plus offers for some time now, and even though Sony have been giving their fans interesting offers in this regard from time to time, there seems to be a growing sentiment in the community that the company could be doing even more. If it’s not “Little Big Planet 3”, then it should definitely be another title of similar prominence, and Sony really have various options at their disposal if they wanted to offer a more major title under PlayStation Plus.
But “Little Big Planet 3” would actually be a great choice for many reasons, as the game is a major title on Sony’s platform and it’s something that many gamers know and recognize. If the company offered that title for PlayStation Plus, it could easily draw even more attention to not only the service, but the console itself, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we started seeing even more discussions about PlayStation Plus on the Internet.
