Gamers have been waiting quite a while for the closed beta release designed for PlayStation 4 version of Sony Online Entertainment’s MMOFPS called Planetside 2. It will start on January 20 as announced by the popular developers in their official PlayStation blog. The three factions all locked together in violent combat for the control over Auraxis, is in itself a pretty great deal. Now, this 2-year old battle gets expanded to the PS4.
The PS4 version of the game receives a closed beta on 20th January, 2015. It was announced by Sony on Wednesday. Originally, Sony wanted to launch the beta by 2014. However, due to certain problems it was delayed. The developer has now announced that the delay was due to the precious time spent on optimizing the game, refining it and creating a great console version specifically designed for the PS4 gamers.
With the release of Planetside 2 beta for the PlayStation 4, Sony will be able to monitor how the game runs on its servers by running several tests. It will calibrate the performance and many other aspects related to the game. The studio will also keep in touch with the testers, hoping that they share the necessary information through the special beta forums with direct access to Sony.
A long time ago, Sony pledged that they would game bring this futuristic first-person shooter MMOFPS to the PS4 console ever since its release. The PC version of Planetside 2 released back in November 2012. However, a lot of changes have been incorporated since then with the addition of vehicles, new weapons along with a fourth continent.
Sony declared that at least a few thousand players will receive the beta invites in order to start with the tests. More invites will start rolling out in perfect chronological order. What it all means is that the early bird catches the beta here. The earlier you sign up, the sooner you will receive the invite. Quoting Sony, “We want the massive battles to make your heart pound and adrenaline pump, so share your thoughts with us,”
You can easily sign up for a chance to play the Planetside 2 PS4 Beta using the game’s website. The full version of the Planetside 2 title for PS4 will be released later in 2015. In order to ensure that the game is running perfectly, the developers will keep asking feedback from the gamers regarding all of the aspects of this MMOFPS.
It is anticipated that players will pay extra attention to how the controls have been translated for DualShock 4 usage with the touchpad. The player base will be divided into the form of platforms, so there’s no chance that you might get blown away by more experienced PC players.
