“Pirates of the Caribbean” has been in dire need of some revival after the franchise became a bit stale with its last installment. Fans are still hoping that the next film in the series is going to revive their interest in it, but for the time being some are approaching it with a healthy dose of skepticism as they don’t want to end up feeling too burned if the film ends up a disappointment. After all, many people had high hopes for “Pirates of the Caribbean 4” as well, but in the end the film didn’t quite manage to live up to their expectations.
Now, reports are indicating that the newest installment in the franchise is going to try taking it back to its roots and it will explore some of the elements that made the original film(s) so fun, and fans have been talking a lot about the possible implications on the Internet. On the other hand, there are also some reports that the studio is going to explore some fresh new elements in the plot of the series in order to breathe some new life into it.
All in all, it’s starting to sound like this film has a lot of potential and can easily end up in a prominent position on the market once it’s out, but we’ll have to wait a little and see how the producers are going to handle it in all its different aspects. There are other things that are worrying to fans, such as the overall plot direction and the tone of the humor in the film, things which have started to move in slightly questionable directions with the latest entries in the franchise.
Captain Salazar will reportedly be a main focus of the new film’s plot, and we’re going to see his character explored in a lot of detail. It’s also reported that Will Turner is going to make a comeback as well, although we don’t know exactly what his part in the plot is going to be. There have been some reports that he is going to be tasked with helping out Captain Salazar, and the two of them could share a strong connection in the new film, so it could turn out to be an interesting duo in the end.
Some characters from the previous films in the franchise will reportedly be missing from this one however, and this includes Kierra Knightly and Penelope Cruz. It’s safe to assume that the producers are going to fill that void with some new characters in order to make it up to their fans, but we have no idea what their exact plans are. We only have reports of Kaya Scodelario taking part in the new film, and it looks like she might be given a more prominent role exactly in order to make up for the plot changes that came about with the removal of the other two actresses. Hopefully, she will be able to address the situation with her presence nicely.
Other than the above changes, the film is apparently going to be similar to the very first installment in the franchise, in a move that some critics have been comparing to “Jurassic World”. It will be the same (or similar) story told through entirely new lens, and this can easily revive the franchise and bring it back to life. Or it could end up boring fans and turning them away from the films even more, but hopefully that won’t be the case here.
