Disney Pictures is not at all bothered by the retitling of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” in some European countries for as long as it fulfills its objective of reviving the sagging film franchise by taking it back to its roots.
Critics say that it is hard to fault some Europeans for retitling the movie since the gist of the film is actually the revenge of the ghostly pirate Captain Salazar, on all the pirates at sea and most especially on Captain Jack Sparrow.
Salazar believes that Captain Jack was responsible for the death of his brother so he was really out for revenge. And the only way that Captain Jack can parry off Salazar is by locating the Trident of Poseidon, which is also being searched by astronomer Carina Smyth since it is an important artifact.
Carina Smyth happens to have a clue as to the exact location of the Trident of Poseidon and when Captain Jack learned about it, he decided to team up with her without telling her the true purpose why he also wanted the artifact.
Their journey together has paved the way for their misadventures in the movie as they were also joined by Henry Turner. Henry turns out to be the son of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann.
