‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Rumors About Penelope Cruz Being Part of the Film Inaccurate As Actress Was Merely Paying Husband Javier Bardem a Visit on the Set!

Actress Penelope Cruz was part of the fourth movie of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise entitled “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” shown in 2011.

She took on the role of lady pirate Angelica back then and her entry into the movie series was just right as Keira Knightley decided to move on from the franchise by abandoning her Elizabeth Swann character after being involved in the first three movies.

There were reports as early as last year that Penelope Cruz shall be reprising her role in the fifth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise. It heated up once again this year weeks after the movie had a three-week filming extension over in Vancouver, Canada from end-March to mid-April this year.

The rumors actually originated from the fact that Penelope Cruz was spotted on the Australian set of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” early last year.

It turns out that the actress was there because she was just visiting her husband Javier Bardem, who is the one who has been made as part of the cast of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men No Tales” to take on the role of the villainous Captain Salazar, reports Youth Health Mag.

It can be recalled that it was also in April last year when the former wife of Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, also visited her former husband on the set using a private jet and also brought along their Yorkshire pet dogs. Amber Heard was never rumored to be part of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” but she got embroiled in a legal mess with the Australian Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources for not subjecting their pet dogs to local quarantine laws.

The ministry had Barnaby Joyce as Minister back then who formalized the lodging of the case against Amber Heard. Joyce is now the Australian Deputy Prime Minister.

Last April, Amber Heard went back to Australia and pleaded guilty to violating local quarantine laws. She did not serve jail time but it is sure that she was meted a penalty for her offense.
