The fifth movie of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise will be hitting global cinemas on May 26, 2017, and the official trailer of the film was already released a few weeks ago by Disney.
There were only two actors shown in the trailer and it’s Brenton Thwaites, who takes on the role of Henry Turner, the son of Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom, and Elizabeth Swann, previously played by Keira Knightly, and Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem.
But the entire trailer was very creepy as Henry was waiting for Captain Salazar to come down on the lower deck of the ship.
The scene only shows Captain Salazar’s boots and the audio is more on his footsteps. In between, there are also scenes of a ship sailing under very dark skies which have also engulfed the island nearby that made everything looked very scary and horrific, indicating the foreboding of doom.
Then Captain Salazar showed his face to Henry and only half of his head exists, the other half, the back side, is nowhere there. One of his ghost pirates is also shown without the top of his head.
Captain Salazar and his ghost pirates look like the walkers from the TV series “The Walking Dead” and those were more than enough to scare a lot of viewers and add to their excitement in watching “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” which would officially come out in theaters as “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”
Captain Salazar also uttered a few lines to Henry during the clip and he told him to tell Captain Jack Sparrow that death is coming for him.
Based on the trailer, it seems clear that Captain Jack shall be battling zombie-like ghost pirates in the way Rick Grimes battle walkers in “The Walking Dead,” or Jon Snow trying to survive the onslaught of white walkers in “Game of Thrones.”
Ridiculous rumors
A few weeks ago, there were rumors that came out saying that Johnny Depp shall no longer reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” apparently because he had to deal with a tough divorce from his erstwhile wife Amber Heard, reports Game & Guide.
Those rumors may have also come out because the official trailer did not also feature Captain Jack Sparrow.
Those who are privy to the film find the rumors downright absurd if not ridiculous because every fan of the pirate movie knows that Captain Jack Sparrow is the face of the franchise and the film simply would not stand on its own without him.
That is in addition to the fact that filming for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” has already completed in the spring of this year.
While there are speculations saying that fans are really upset that Disney had to take out Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie, it is clear that those are only meant to hype up the movie which will be hitting theaters in less than six months time.
Relegated to a supporting role?
There were also previous speculations saying that Captain Jack Sparrow was relegated to a supporting role in the upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”
But contrary to such rumors, the eccentric pirate captain will still be the front and center of the film.
Recent reports were saying that Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner, the role played by Orlando Bloom, were relegated to supporting roles as the “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will reportedly focus on Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites, details Yibada.
However, the rumors are not true since everyone knows that Captain Jack Sparrow is the face of the pirate movie franchise.
