‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Latest Rumors Say Orlando Bloom Reprising His Will Turner Role

Before production for “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” began at the start of the year in the Gold Coast in Australia, reports already came out that Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley have decided that they shall no longer be coming back to the movie.

It was for such reason that Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario were taken in as new cast members of the fifth installment of the successful Pirate movie franchise to replace Bloom and Knightely. The new actors will play support to Johnny Depp, who will continue his lead role in the movie as Captain Jack Sparrow.

However, latest rumors indicate that Orlando Bloom seems to have a change of heart and decided to come back to the movie to reprise his Will Turner role, according to Venture Capital Post.

Only this time, Orlando will have an even meatier role in the movie as he will play father to Brenton’s character. It would also come out in the movie that Brenton’s character will be the long lost son of Will Turner and Elizabeth, the character played by Keira Knightley in the past four movies of the franchise.

In a previous interview, Brenton Thwaites said that his character in “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” is a young man wanting to reconnect with his father, whom he initially thought to be Davy Jones.

He added that there is a curse that prevents his character from reconnecting with his father and the movie will detail how he shall go around it to fix things and eventually saved his father. With the latest rumors indicating that Will Turner is his father, it certainly puts a twist on one of the main plotlines of the movie.

Over-budget

The massive delays in the filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” has already caused producers more than $70 million and that is a lot of money wasted in any language. It is already behind filming schedule even though it is due to be released to worldwide theaters on July 17, 2017, reports the Daily Mail.

It is obvious that the cause of the delay is lead star Johnny Depp, who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the fifth installment of the very successful pirate movie franchise.

Early in March, Johnny Depp had to left filming in Australia and go back to Los Angeles after he accidentally injured his hand. The injury had nothing to do with the filming of the movie but as a result of the actor’s drinking and partying spree while in Australia.

He came back to Australia in the third week of April bringing along his wife Amber Heard and their two Yorkshire pooches that got entangled in a controversy with the Ministry of Agriculture for slipping into the country without proper documentation.

Having lost enough money already, the producers at Disney Pictures as well as Jerry Bruckheimer finally decided to give the 52-year-old actor the pieces of their mind, which was a sort of shape up or ship out ultimatum.

Accordingly, they don’t want any more of the actor’s shenanigans on the set because he might force them to make drastic moves. By drastic, it could mean that they cut the actor from the movie or cancel the filming of the movie altogether; either way though, it would not make good business sense so they are forced to deal with Johnny instead.

Fortunately, Johnny Depp took the intervention on a positive light. He subsequently apologized to the crew and the producers and filming have been smoothly progressing since then.

The producers and crew are still keeping their fingers crossed though hoping that Johnny Depp will toe the line. If it’s any assurance to the producers, however, the actor even got a sober coach to ensure that he will be aboveboard for the rest of the filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5.”
