‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Johnny Depp’s Deteriorating Relationship with Amber Heard Often Forced the Actor Not to Show Up on the Set!

Now that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are already divorcing, the truth is starting to come out regarding the reasons for the massive delay in the filming of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” in Australia last year.

Apparently, because of the already deteriorating relationship of actor Johnny Depp with his then newly-married wife Amber Heard, he had to make others wait on the set. He either shows up later, very late, or not show up at all, causing crew members to quip that the actor was a nightmare to work with on the set of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” the fifth movie of the successful pirate movie franchise from Disney.

It was actually DJ Jackie O’ Henderson who made the tell-all revelation on the Australian breakfast radio show “The Kyle and Jackie O Show” when she said that some crew members on the movie told her that they were frequently left waiting for Depp to show up for work, reports Yahoo! Movies.

According to DJ O’ Henderson, Johnny Depp would not show up on the set because he and Amber Heard were fighting.

The cause of Depp’s injury

Sometime in March last year, Johnny Depp caused the deferment of filming when he injured his finger in a non-filming related incident.

The movie’s production was delayed by four weeks because of Depp’s finger or hand injury as the report would have it back then. He went back to the US from Australia to undergo a surgery.

Now it has come out that the reason why he injured his finger is because of rage over allegations that his former wife was cheating on him. He was reportedly high on alcohol and ecstasy when he had that fit of rage that injured his finger.

Reports now have it that he then dipped the wounded finger in blue paint and daubed a message on the mirror, writing that his ex-wife was having an affair with veteran actor Billy Bob Thornton.

Production of “Pirates of the Caribbean 5,” which is rumored to have cost a staggering $320 million, was further embroiled in controversy when Amber Heard flew in from the US the couple’s Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo into Australia without undergoing the country’s strict quarantine laws.

Heard eventually admitted in court to the offense and was fined in the spring of this year before she and Johnny Depp made a bizarre apology video for the infraction.

Continues to stir up controversy

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” which would be hitting global theaters on May 26, 2017 continues to stir up more controversies as latest reports indicate some tension between the production team and the cast of the movie, notes the Parent Herald.

Both Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, who play Captain Jack Sparrow and Will Turner, respectively, in the pirate movie franchise, were rumored to be feuding and competing against each other as the movie’s lead star.

Although the speculations could just be an offshoot of the personal relationship controversies that both Depp and Bloom are currently embroiled into. It is clear from the get-go that Johnny Depp is the bigger star and is the face of the franchise and Orlando Bloom is fine with that.

In fact, there were even absurd rumors saying that the controversy would force Disney to remove the two from the cast and reboot the franchise altogether, which sounds ridiculous considering that the movie is now in post-production stage.

Meanwhile, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney Pictures have initially pegged the production budget of the movie at $250 million but have gone overboard and just went with it to make sure that it becomes a blockbuster success and recoup their investments.

As it is, promotions would be key in ensuring that “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” rakes in more than half a billion dollars in the box office when it is released to the cinemas next year to earn money.

Interestingly, a new comic book featuring the franchise will be launched this month, which would surely help in the promotions of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

The comic book will follow Captain Jack Sparrow and his adventures in between the movies. The first issue will feature Captain Jack being on the run after squaring off with Captain Barbossa.

Admiral Norrington of the British Army has also given him a head start for his escape but the chase is definitely on.

Thus, the first issue of the comic book shall actually follow the events that transpired after “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl,” the first movie of the franchise.

It has yet to be confirmed how many issues will the “Pirates of the Caribbean” comic book will have, but it shall be published by Joe Books and will be handled by Joe Flood and Chris Schweizer.
