‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5’ Goes into Post-Production; Critics Skeptical if Movie is Better than its Predecessors!

The fifth installment to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie franchise has just completed filming and is reportedly on the first phase of its post-production.

It seems a bit early for its July 2017 release date, but it was actually the delay in filming caused by Johnny Depp earlier this year that Disney was prompted to push back its playdate from 2016 to 2017.

The bigger task for the post-production people is to make sure that “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” comes out better than its predecessor or as the producers wanted, be as good as any of the first two films.

Redirecting the course of the fifth film

The producers wanted to redirect the course of the fifth film after the last two movies of the franchise veered off course.

It was actually British actress Kaya Scodelario who said in a recent interview that “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be similar to the first film, which is considered a classic.

She added that the creators wanted to have the “Pirates of the Caribbean” epic journey for the entire storyline to make sense by tying everything up to the beginning and lead to new storylines.

The “Maze Runner” actress says her character in the “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is Carina Smyth. She will be an astronomer and an academician and that she will be fighting for her right to study in the university because having women pursue such vocation is something not normal during the early days, notes the Inquisitr.

Her role will intertwine with the goal of Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, as Carina will also be looking for the Trident of Poseidon. She has a diary which shall offer them clues and on how to find what they were looking for. But typical of Captain Jack, he will mess everything up and that’s where all the fun and misadventures begin.

In addition, just like the first film, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will exude high entertainment value the way the first two films of the franchise had almost two decades ago.

Skeptical of the results

Reports have it that film experts and critics are being skeptical about “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” being better than its predecessors unless producers do some excellent work in the post-production phase of the film, notes Jobs & Hire.

However, it does appear that the producers are trying their best efforts to bring back the fun and adventure of the first two films of the series.

There are also reports that Javier Bardem, taking on the role of Captain Salazar in the fifth installment of the very popular pirate movie franchise, will be one of the main reasons why “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” will have its share of fun and excitement.

In addition to an interesting plotline, which would take back the franchise to its roots, given that the last two movies of the series were not warmly received by the viewers, one other thing that would make it exciting to watch is Captain Salazar.

Reports have it that Javier Bardem is doing very well playing Captain Salazar that he would actually be featured a lot in the movie.

Salazar was a captain who operated from the 18th century. He leads a deadly horde of ghost pirates and was an old nemesis of Captain Jack Sparrow, whom he believed to have killed his brother. He ended up at some point in a place known as the Devil’s Triangle, but he managed to escape with the goal of killing every pirate at sea and get his revenge on Captain Jack Sparrow.

As the actor has shown in the James Bond movie “Skyfall” released in October 2012, Javier Bardem is a very good actor in taking on a big bad role. Those who have seen the previous James Bond movie before “Spectre” could very well remember his effeminate character with the removable jaw.

And if he takes his performance on “Skyfall” to “Pirates of the Caribbean 5,” then Captain Jack Sparrow has all the right reasons to be scared and run away from Captain Salazar. And that would certainly add to the excitement in the upcoming movie when it hits global theaters sometime in July 2017.
