Despite the drop in quality of the franchise for every sequel, all the three film sequels still made money at the box-office for Disney.
According to movie critics, the franchise has obviously seen better days and a fresh blood in the Director’s chair is maybe what the doctor ordered for the film series.
With directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg now calling the shots on “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” it looks like the franchise is set to return to form.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will see Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp and Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem, going head to head.
Those in the know are aware that Javier Bardem is the Spanish husband of actress Penelope Cruz. He has played important roles before on the movies “Skyfall” as well as “Eat, Pray, Love.”
The synopsis of the “Pirates of the Caribbean 5” film will see a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finding the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, Captain Salazar, who just escaped from the Devil’s Triangle. Captain Salazar has set his sights on killing every pirate at sea, including Captain Jack.
