After the debacle that was the fourth movie, Disney has learned its lesson and thus decided to reboot the franchise with a fresh start. The last three films of the franchise were overly criticized by movie critics for their convoluted plots and for not being as original as the first film shown in 2003.
Disney also believes that the franchise has already suffered from fatigue and is optimistic that the return of Orlando Bloom will help rejuvenate the franchise again by giving the viewers an additional reason to be excited about.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is being helmed by a new crew and new directors, Joachim Ronning, and Espen Sandberg, who both come from indie films.
In the fifth film, Captain Jack will be thrust into an all-new adventure as he will find himself being hunted by deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem. Salazar escaped from the Devil’s Triangle and is determined to kill every pirate at sea. Captain Jack’s survival lies on the legendary Trident of Poseidon, which bestows upon its possessor the power to totally control the seas. But he will not be the only one looking for it as he will compete with Carina too, details Comingsoon.net.
