In exchange for announcing the delay in the release of “Persona 5,” the game developer attempted to ease the impact of the bad news among gamers when it revealed the main storyline of the game in the September 24 issue of the weekly Famitsu video game magazine in Japan.
Apparently, the next chapter of the “Persona” video game series will be different from the previous two titles of the franchise.
The main characters of the game are to be called the Phantom Thieves and they will be facing multiple antagonists in the game, which makes it different with “Persona 3” and “Persona 4” because in those games, players only fight a single opponent.
The multiple antagonists in “Persona 5” are actually due to the game’s omnibus story because the game will also have multiple storylines branching out from its central point.
Just like the previous “Persona” titles, however, the story of “Persona 5” will revolve around the theme of social reform using current real-life issues as the theme.
The main goal of the Phantom Thieves in “Persona 5” is to make the enemy confess their crimes and retrieve their stolen hearts.
While details on the enemy are still sketchy at this time, but Famitsu detailed that the villains will reside in an area called the Palace. The character will also make use of a smartphone app while inside the Palace so that they could locate enemies and allies within the area.
