‘Persona 5’ to be Set in a Juvenile School Setting, Reveals Game Director!

Atlus game director and team producer Katsura Hashino has made a couple of new revelations regarding the upcoming role-playing game “Persona 5” coming to the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4 next year.

Hashino said that the setting of the game will be a juvenile school and the premise will have a dash of romance too. He also made a brief comparison on how the story of “Persona 5” will differ from the previous titles of the franchise, notes the Ecumenical News.

In a post on the game’s website, Hashino said that the previous game featured a story involving a justice group chasing a bad guy. However, in “Persona 5,” it would be a group of high school students who will be chased by unexpected occurrences due to the justice that they believe in.

The game director added that the story will definitely be thrilling for each of the characters in the game.

He also disclosed that he and the development team are now working on the evolved graphics and sound of “Persona 5.”

Confirming the new details

Meanwhile, “Persona 5” director Katsuhiro Harada confirmed the latest disclosure made by Katsura Hashino, who is also designing the game.

Harada said that the playable characters in “Persona 5” will always be on the run and shall be doing things they believe to be right.

The main characters of the game include a 16-year-old student called as The Protagonist, the blonde guy Ryuuji Sakamoto, the girl Ann Takamaki, the blue-haired Yusuke Kitagawa, and a cat named Morgana, details the Realty Today.

Harada and Hashino also confirmed that the game will be released in the summer of 2016 although no specific date was mentioned.

In addition to announcing the release date of “Persona 5” during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show held in September, game director Katsura Hashino also disclosed a new game feature shown through the gameplay trailer.

A new mission to steal hearts

Another interesting difference with “Persona 5” from its predecessor games is the fact that gamers will have the ability to steal hearts in the upcoming game. Apparently, it will be part of their mission to steal the hearts of corrupt individuals in order to save the world from eternal darkness.

According to Hashino, the particular game mechanic would play an important part in the game’s story. He also stated that “Persona 5” would feature new storylines for each main character and it would also come out as the largest game in the franchise in terms of content and game time.

Hashino also said that he and Atlus were quite happy with the gamer reception for the trailer of “Persona 5” shown during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show.

Just like in the previous iterations of the game, “Persona 5” focuses on a group of four high school students who all have the ability to interact with the paranormal world. They are students by day and phantom thieves at night. But they are good thieves and they are always being chased by the game’s antagonists.

Together with a talking cat named Morgana, they embark on their mission every night in light of various challenges that come their way.

Accordingly, the game’s personas are based on iconic thieves in pop culture and history such as Goemon Ishikawa and Arsene Lupin, among others.

Based on its gameplay trailer, “Persona 5” will have several new game features, most notably the Sneak, the All-Out Attack, and the Cooperation.

As its name implies, Sneak shall allow gamers to sneak around obstacles and enemy units in the dungeon area. All-Out Attack enables the characters to team up and battle enemy units. Cooperation is the game’s social link.
