Person of Interest Season 5 to Premiere in the Summer of 2016 to Help Boost its Ratings!

Through a back door built into the system, Finch receives the Social Security number of someone who will be involved in an imminent crime, at which point he contacts Reese. Without knowing what the crime will be, or when it will occur, or even if the person they were alerted to is a victim or perpetrator, Reese and Finch always try to stop the crime from happening.

Their unique brand of vigilante justice attracts the attention of two NYPD officers – Jocelyn Carter, played by Taraji P. Henson, and Lionel Fusco, played by Kevin Chapman. Reese used the two officers to his advantage by investigating persons of interests for possible upcoming violent crimes, oblivious to Carter and Fusco.

Eventually, Reese and Finch were joined by Samantha ‘Root’ Groves, played by Amy Acker who is a highly intelligent computer hacker and contract killer whom The Machine later identifies as its analog interface.

There is also Sameen Shaw, played by Sarah Shahi, a former ISA assassin who unknowingly dealt with the relevant numbers found by The Machine.

Beginning on the third season, “Person of Interest” has seen the advent of a new rival AI called as the ‘Samaritan,’ which was brought to existence by Decima Technologies. Season 4 of the TV series centered on the struggle between the two competing AIs and their human agents.

The series has received generally positive reception from critics especially when “Person of Interest” introduced more serialized storylines and its exploration of artificial intelligence.

  1. lol Person of Interest Season 5 to premiere in the summer of 2016 absolutely NOT to help boost its ratings.
CBS are homophobic asshats it’s a well-known fact and they’re trying to do anything to sink a show with same sex pairing. Season 5 contains a lot of female on female action and those who’s in charge of the network can’t stomach this.

Tell CBS to stop their homophobia. It’s outrageous.

  2. This is my favorite show on tv right now, surpassing Game of Thrones and Agents of Shield (the only other 2 currently running shows I watch). It has a very unique story line, well thought out characters (although John can be a little too dry, and Root sometimes feels like her ‘over the top’ personality is forced). I really hope since it’s on Netflix that it will receive more of a following now, and possibly set it up to continue past season 5. In fact, if it does well enough on Netflix, they could maybe pick it up themselves (wouldn’t be the first time they did that) or maybe another network like USA. Anyways, really great show, thought Season 4 finale was amazing and intriguing. Hope they don’t ruin it with this abbreviated next season. I think it has enough story to continue on for 2 or 3 more.

  3. All I know is, I enjoy this show. I didn’t know anything about it, and discovered it on Netflix (5 star rating). My wife and I binge watched it through season 3, and even sprung for the $35 to watch season 4 on Amazon. Yeah, some of the plot is hokey, but the comedic edge balances well with the action. I do live the interaction between the characters, and after four seasons they have developed that comfortable rapport that cast/crew get after years together. Advise – don’t get “too” hokey. Let the character relationships develop naturally. Most of all, don’t cancel it – it is far more entertaining than the shows less in jeopardy!
