The site believes or hopes that Dr. Seward is actually the Cut-Wife who managed to survive being burned on the stakes by faking her death with magic so that she could come back and help Vanessa Ives control her powers.
Vanessa fears being possessed by the demon that torments her and has not accepted that she is the reincarnation of the ancient Egyptian goddess Amunet.
Dr. Seward could come in as her mentor who could teach the young witch to control her powers and be able to offer more insight on the prophecy. As the Cut-Wife, disguised as Dr. Seward, she could find a way for Vanessa to wield Amunet’s abilities without losing her soul to the demon.
It would also enable Vanessa Ives to possibly save Ethan Chandler from his werewolf curse and most of all, it would be a perfect twist to the unpredictable TV series.
However, these are mere speculations at this time and subject to the confirmation or denial of the producers and showrunner so the information should be taken with a grain of salt.
Season 3 of “Penny Dreadful” is certainly drawing excitement and attention already so it is just a matter of time when fans and viewers would finally get to know the true score of the latest plotlines when the TV series premieres soon on Showtime.
