The first official trailer of “Penny Dreadful” Season 3 is titled “Embrace Your Dark Side” which means that in addition to Vanessa, the other members of the gothic gang including Ethan Chandler, Sir Malcolm Murray, and Victor Frankenstein will also show their eerie side.
There is also Dorian Gray and Lily Frankenstein who seem ready to become the main villains of the third season.
And then there is the Creature who was last seen sailing through icy waters to get away from it all. He was shown in the Season 3 trailer so it means that he is going to be back and possibly take his revenge not on Victor, but on Lily and Dorian.
In addition to the main cast of characters, a new series regular will also be joining the third season of “Penny Dreadful” in the person of Patti LuPone, who shall be taking on the role of American psychiatrist Dr. Seward.
She will be treating Vanessa with an unconventional new approach. In fact, the first photo of Season 3 released late last year showed Dr. Seward comforting Vanessa wearing a straight jacket and in a padded room, which appears to be an asylum. The actress was a guest star during Season 2 where she took on the role of the Cut-Wife.
