One of the most absurd but witty parts of the show was Vanessa talking to the puppet Vanessa. The puppet has Vanessa’s voice, but it was Satan controlling the doll. Interestingly, Vanessa showed her dominance when the demon doll tried to boss her around and become the doll’s puppet. However, Vanessa was more powerful than the doll.
Madame Kali was also a part of the big twists in the series. She was persistent in having Vanessa succumb to the puppet’s desires. She tried to lure Vanessa by showing her tempting possibilities if she actually followed. Madame Kali showed her a scene of her and Ethan making out. Apparently, the dark Vanessa has some normal desires in life like love.
Vanessa seemed to have almost given up, but she surprisingly made a turn when she attacked the puppet and told Satan that a normal life is no longer a part of who she is. She grabbed the puppet’s face and chanted the devil’s tongue. Scorpions came out of the puppet’s face. In the last part of the exchange, Vanessa told the puppet that she is the master.
Vanessa’s last statement in that scene had fans wondering what she meant by that. There are suggestions that she could be the reincarnation of one Egyptian mother. Whatever it is, her devil tongue overpowered the puppet.
