‘Outlander’ Season 3 Jamie Fraser’s Supposed Rape Scene on Geneva Causes Uproar Among Fans

Back in Season 1 of the British-Irish time travel romance drama TV series “Outlander” on Starz, the penultimate episode featured the rape of Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan, in the hands of Black Jack Randall, played by Tobias Menzies.

Many fans of the TV series based on Diana Gabaldon’s novel of the same title say that the scenes were quite revolting.

In Season 2 of “Outlander,” the young boy Fergus narrated to Claire Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe, how he was raped by Black Jack Randall. That had fans of the TV series complaining that it was again too revolting especially to the average viewers.

Apparently, there will be another rape scene in the upcoming Season 3 of “Outlander” and it is now causing an uproar and controversy among fans of the TV series.

Based on the third book of Diana Gabaldon, entitled “Voyager,” Jamie will seemingly force himself into Geneva, a new character to be introduced in Season 3. Some readers of the book say that the scene is where Jamie raped Geneva and they are saying that it should no longer be featured in the TV series.

But the author explained that the situation is not considered rape because of the instances surrounding the scene, notes News Everyday.

Along with Geneva, other new characters to be introduced in the upcoming third season of “Outlander” are a grown up Fergus, Marsali, who is Laoghaire’s daughter, and Ian, who is Jamie’s nephew.

Surviving the Battle of Culloden

During the Season 2 finale of “Outlander,” Jamie and Claire were 200 years apart. Just before the Battle of Culloden, Claire decided to head back to the stones and go back to the future, afraid of what will happen to Jamie since she knows that based on history, the Battle of Culloden was where the Jacobites were completely wiped out.

To be based on the third book entitled “Voyager” by Diana Gabaldon, Season 3 of “Outlander” shall see Jamie surviving the Battle of Culloden. In fact, he will end up in the care of the Dunsany family after the war, where Jamie will get a chance to start over.

Based on the book, the Dunsany twins will play a role in the life of Jamie Fraser and the TV series shall also show it when it was already confirmed that Tanya Reynolds shall be taking on the role of Isobel, while Hannah James shall be playing Geneva.

Among the twins, it will be Geneva who shall be playing a major role in Jamie’s life following Claire’s return to the future.

Final meet-up between the tormentor and the tormented

Incidentally, one of the highlights of the Battle of Culloden is the final meet-up of Jamie and his tormentor and arch-enemy Black Jack Randall.

While it is expected that Jamie will kill Black Jack Randall on the battlefield, viewers would like to know how he did it.

Fans actually have the same zest on the death of Black Jack Randall as the death of Ramsay Bolton in the mouths of his own rabid dogs while Sansa Stark was watching in the HBO hit series “Game of Thrones.”

Although his characters in the 1800s will finally be killed off, Tobias Menzies will continue to have a recurring role in “Outlander” Season 3 since his 1960s character, Frank Randall, is very much alive. But he will eventually meet his demise as well.

One thing is certain as far as Tobias Menzies is concerned, it seems like he will no longer be around for Season 4 since his two characters in the upcoming third season will die, one in the Battle of Culloden, and the other one due to depression.
