Outlander Season 2 will Feature Attempt of Frasers to Alter the Course of History in Paris!

The second season of the American-British TV series “Outlander” is now filming at Glasgow, Scotland but the actors are wearing French costumes indicating that the main plot of the show will shift focus from Scotland to France, reports the International Business Times.

While the next season of the TV series is set in France, the majority of the actions and the scenes shall still take place in Scotland. It could be remembered that Scotland provided the perfect backdrop for the first season of the show on Starz network including the Linlithgow Palace and the Tibbermore Church. The popular time travel show even had a one-month filming stint at Doune Castle.

Behind-the-scene images of the filming of “Outlander” Season 2 were leaked recently and show the Pollok Country Park in Glasgow being used to depict a scene from France during the 1700s. The pictures also show the actors having discussions with some of the production staff prior to the filming of the scenes.

The new costumes in the current filming of “Outlander” is in stark contrast to the ones worn by the actors during Season 1 and it seems that the attires for the upcoming season is more colorful involving blue, red and other bright colors. The materials used in making the French costumes were also lustrous and luminous.

Trying to stop the inevitable

Season 2 of “Outlander” will see Jamie, played by Samie Heughan, and Claire Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe, continuing their story from Scotland to France. They will actually attempt to change the course of history in Paris as they will try to stop the Jacobite risings by seeking out Bonnie Prince Charlie, details Scotland Now.

The second season of the show will feature Jamie and Claire adjusting to their new life in France and how they will attempt to stop the Battle of Culloden from happening.

In a recent interview, Heughan disclosed that his character will try to get into his new political French life wholeheartedly, but he will not be enjoying it. He added that both Jamie and Claire will learn to undercut people and slowly become political themselves.

The actor revealed that Jamie will appear to be a charming businessman during the day but at night, he will be back to his old self that his wife knows him.

Claire will apparently be responsible for pushing Jamie to take on the goal of changing the future as a mission. The actress said that her character will do such in order to help her husband overcome the traumatic experience that he went through while they were still in Scotland.

She will also deal with her own challenges, particularly that of being pregnant. Their child will be the one to bring them together as a couple and carry them through the challenges in France.

Picking up where Season 1 left off

Season 2 of “Outlander” will pick up where the Season 1 finale left off and part of the leaked images during the filming of the show at Pollock Country Park showed actors Sam Heughan and Tobias Menzies shooting a duel scene.

Tobias Menzies plays Jonathan ‘Black Jack’ Randall, and he will have his much-anticipated encounter with Jamie Fraser following their dramatic confrontation in the Season 1 finale.

Showrunner Ronald Moore confirmed that much of the second season of “Outlander 2” will be filmed in Scotland among other locations. He also added that some of the locations in England will be meant to represent Versailles in France, where they have decided not to shoot both for cost consideration and time constraints.

He also added that filming of interiors that are supposed to represent French locations will be done on the soundstage of the show.

“Outlander” is based on the historical time travel “Outlander” series of novels written by Diana Gabaldon.
