‘Outlander’ Season 2 to See Claire and Jamie’s Daughter Brianna Travelling Back in Time to Meet Her Father She Never Met!

Season 2 of the British-American historical drama TV series “Outlander” on Starz is expected to premiere in March next year.

The TV series is actually based on the novel by writer Diana Gabaldon about a couple from different times falling in love. There were reports that since Gabaldon’s series is composed of several books, it was likely that Season 2 of “Outlander” shall be based on the second book titled “Dragonfly in Amber.”

But it seems that the TV series will be taking a course that is somewhat different from the direction of the book.

Rumors have it that Brianna or Bree will be making an appearance in the upcoming season, a plotline which did not make it to the second book of Gabaldon’s novel series, cites the Christian Post.

In the novel, Brianna was featured in the second book. If the TV series is to follow the plotline of the published novel, the character should appear in Season 2. Apparently, the TV series will have its own plots and twists and it is likely that it will be in the main storyline where it will reconnect with the novel eventually.

In fact, there was even a casting report that a plot from Gabaldon’s fourth book was mentioned in the casting call for Brianna’s role recently. According to the casting call, Brianna will secretly follow her mother Claire back in time to find the father she never met and the family she never knew.

However, all these reports are mere speculations at this time and shall only be known once Season 2 of “Outlander” unfolds. Because as it is, it seems that the cast members or the showrunners would not be giving out details or spoilers about the TV series to keep the show’s excitement and maintain the enthusiasm of the fans for the upcoming second season.

Costume-heavy TV series

Because of the nature of its storyline, “Outlander” is actually a costume-heavy TV series. But that is actually an understatement.

While there are a good number of shows or TV series both in the past and the present that have a robust costume department, none of them can come close to the level of “Outlander,” according to Cartermatt.

In fact, in the current filming for Season 2 of “Outlander,” the production has already made use of 6,500 hangers, indicating the huge number of wardrobe for its cast. The outlet actually describes it as absolutely insane.

However, considering the second season is set in France during the 18th century where fashion was incredibly important, the show really had to keep up. Back during Season 1, “Outlander” was set in Scotland and the series had a very real and authentic feel to it because of the costumes worn by the characters.

But the volume of Scottish costumes during Season 1 pales in comparison to the volume of French costumes in the upcoming second season so obviously, the series is staying true to form in terms of authenticity and realism.

Speaking of filming, executive producer Maril Davis actually announced on Twitter last week that “Outlander” has just marked its 300th day of filming on October 29, which is close to a full year already.

It is obvious that the producers, creators, cast, and crew members have poured in a ton of work for the show over the last two years and with the good reception and popularity of “Outlander” as a TV series, it seems like all their efforts are paying dividends.

An epic duel

Reports have it that Season 2 will highlight the epic duel between Jamie Fraser, played by Sam Heughan, and Black Jack Randall, played by Tobias Menzies.

It could be recalled that Jamie has an axe to grind against Black Jack because the latter tortured him in Season 1 and their face-to-face meeting in Season 2 is an opportunity for him to give his tormentor some payback. Jamie had to deal with a traumatic incident which he suffered in the hands of Black Jack.
