There have been some rumors surrounding “Outlander” recently that have driven up interest towards the upcoming new season of the show, namely that Sophie Turner would be taking part in the production. And while many fans were quick to start discussing the rumor as if it had already been confirmed, others took a more careful approach and it looks like they were right to do so – it was recently denied by Sophie Turner herself that she would be joining the production, putting an end to the speculation for good.
It should go without saying that some people who were more invested in those rumors quickly found themselves disappointed, while others seemingly didn’t want to give up on the thought that Sophie Turner could be joining the show indeed, but in the end that’s what the situation is like, and there is nothing fans can do to change it.
The rumors were talking about the part of Brianna Fraser, Claire and Jaime’s daughter, and she was apparently the character that would be given to Sophie Turner. However, in the end it turned out that this was not the case and fans are now not sure what to expect about Brianna, and if she’s actually going to be portrayed as they were once hoping.
But in the end, some were already suspecting that this would be the case, and rightly so. Sophie Turner already has a major role in another show, “Game of Thrones”, and when she denied the rumors of her participation in “Outlander”, she specifically pointed out that she was loyal to her current show and she wouldn’t jeopardize that role in any way. With that in mind, we don’t expect to see her in “Outlander” nor any other major production anytime soon.
Of course, she might still take the occasional cameo role here and there, but it’s probably out of the question that we’re ever going to see Sophie Turner in a more prominent position in any production on TV right now (although feature films are a different story). Not as long as “Game of Thrones” is running anyway, which could go on for a while. Let’s just hope that this won’t have any negative impact on her career, as she shouldn’t lock herself in to a single role or style of role, as she definitely has the potential for some diverse roles in her career.
That doesn’t seem to be any real risk right now as she already has some other roles lined up for her future work, and she’s going to be joining the cast of “X-Men: Apocalypse” as Jean Grey. She is also rumored to have some other projects arranged for the near future, and we expect that she will be quite prominent on the big screen for a while. But we certainly don’t expect to see her in a major TV show other than “Game of Thrones” at any point in the near future.
On the “Outlander” front, fans are now wondering who will take on the role of Brianna Fraser, as she will be an important character on the show and the role will likely be given to someone more special. However, fans have no idea who exactly that might be and it’s becoming an increasingly major point of speculation for the community. It seems like there are several major suggestions but nothing concrete has been specified by the show’s producers at this point, so fans aren’t too sure what they should believe.
