Season 4 of the American comedy-drama TV series “Orange is the New Black” is about 11 months away from airing on Netflix, but it seems that speculations on the internet on what fans should expect from the show are more than enough to complete the 13 episodes of the forthcoming season.
High on the list of the rumors is of course the situation of Alex, played by Laura Prepon, who seems to be a goner by the way the events of the series finale of Season 3 turned out.
However, based on her latest Instagram post where she held up an identification card for a correctional facility and wearing an orange jumpsuit, Laura Prepon is sure to be back for Season 4, which means her Alex character will survive the threat on her life.
As if to douse cold water on speculations that her character Alex is good as dead, Laura even captioned her image post on Instagram by saying that she was excited to get out there and make an awesome season, obviously referring to Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black.”
Where is Bennet?
Another important plotline in the series that fans want to find an answer for is whether prison guard John Bennet will be back for the upcoming Season 4 or not.
According to the Australian Network News, there were rumors that Bennet, played by actor Matt McGorry, staged his disappearance in Season 3 and he will likely return for Season 4.
Bennet’s sudden disappearance has something to do with Aleida’s drug-dealing boyfriend Cesar, played by Berto Colon. The prison guard was last seen in Season 3 visiting Daya’s mother Aleida, played by Elizabeth Rodriguez to feel more comfortable with the family of Daya, played by Dascha Polanco.
There were speculations saying that Bennet may have staged his disappearance to secure the safety of his baby with Daya as well as the other kids living with Aleida.
The fate of Bennet on Season 4, however, lies on the show’s writers who have yet to make up their minds whether to allow the return of the prison guard on the upcoming season or not.
Many fans of the show are hoping that Bennet will return for Season 4 because he is one of the most important characters in the series.
Breakout character
But if there is one character in “Orange is the New Black” whose star shone the brightest during Season 3, it is no other than the Australian actress Ruby Rose.
According to Variety, it is not just the stunning looks of Ruby Rose that made her Stella character a household name among the fans and viewers of “Orange is the New Black,” it is also the manner by which she brings real swagger and humor to her character in the series.
She also plays an important role in the series because she actually came between the relationship of the series lead protagonists, Piper, played by Taylor Schilling, and Alex while they are all serving time as inmates at the Litchfield Penitentiary.
But Rose is not about to be swayed by rumors linking her to some of the female characters on the TV show because she is happily engaged in real life to fashion designer Phoebe Dahl, granddaughter of author Ronald Dahl.
While the series revolves around Piper Chapman as “Orange Is the New Black” is based on Piper Kerman’s memoir titled “Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison,” it is her relationship with Alex that is the focal point of the show.
Alex, who was an international drug smuggler, was already in prison when she named Piper in her trial resulting to the arrest of her girlfriend for transporting a suitcase full of drug money to her.
