‘Orange is the New Black’ Season 5 to See Alex Vause Relying More on Piper Chapman for Strength!

The American comedy-drama TV series “Orange is the New Black” in Netflix features an all-female ensemble since it is all about the fictitious Litchfield Penitentiary for women.

Right from the start, the storyline of the popular TV series revolves around Piper Chapman, played by Taylor Schilling, and Alex Vause, played by Lauro Prepon.

It could be recalled that it is because of Alex that caused Piper to be incarcerated as well but when the latter got into Litchfield, their relationship has been subjected to a lot of ordeals and challenges that it eventually led to their split and their relationship finally taking a backseat in the show.

Throughout the past four seasons, Piper and Alex faced several hurdles concerning their relationship including a new love interest for Piper in Season 3. But with what happen to her during Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black,” there are reports saying that Alex shall be relying more on Piper Chapman in Season 5 for strength, details the Christian Daily.

Assuming the rumors are true, it would be an interesting development for many fans of the show who have been waiting for the rekindling of romance between Piper and Alex.

The most compelling storyline

During the recently concluded fourth season of “Orange is the New Black,” Litchfield counselor Sam Healy, played by Michael Harney, was clearly shown as someone who is not doing very good at all at his job.

The fourth season of the TV series took a well-deserved deeper look at the character including Healy’s painful childhood with a mentally-ill mother that  led to an even more painful and lonely adulthood that left him personally and professionally disconnected from practically everyone in his life.

Then came Lolly Whitehill, played by Lori Petty, who was also an inmate with a colorful history of mental illness.

The merging of the stories of Healy and Whitehill sparked a genuine and sweet friendship that shed light on the realities of dealing with mental illness issues.

It also turned out to be one of the most compelling and tear-jerking storylines for Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black,” notes Yahoo! TV.

Comfortable with the show’s writers

In a recent interview with actor Michael Harney, he said he has no idea whether he shall be reprising his role as Sam Healy again in Season 5 of “Orange is the New Black.”

He said that he feels very comfortable with the writers of “Orange is the New Black.” They just give him things to do and then he just kind of ride the wave in the ocean.

Harney added that he just gets on it and go with it. As he goes in his career, he prefers having a freshness to things and he did not really know anything until he got his hands on the script of those episodes.

Upon seeing what was up for his character, the “Deadwood” alum said that he just loved it. He said that if acting was compared directly to painting, he was given the opportunity to paint with such rich colors during Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black.”

What takes the cake of criticisms during the Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black” happened when the show decided to kill off its fan-favorite black lesbian character in Poussey Washington, played by Samira Wiley, that had fans expressing their outrage.

Poussey died at the hands of a prison guard when a peaceful protest of the inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary turned violent.

Orange is the New Black

In a recent interview, actress Samira Wiley said her character’s death in the TV series was intentional on the part of the executive producers because they wanted to show the death of the inmate to the controversial issue involving Eric Gardner.

However, many fans of the show voiced their vehement protests on social media. One fan said that the death of a black lesbian should not be about making white viewers learn a lesson.
