The actress said that she can see Daya pulling the trigger on Humphrey because the character is suffering from postpartum depression. She explained that a woman going through that kind of depression is very sensitive and fragile.
In any case, given the fact that she pointed the gun at an officer with an intention to kill, Daya would suffer the consequences of her action whether or not she pulled the trigger on Humphrey. She could get into a far worse situation if she fired the gun for sure.
Based on recent reports, Daya shall reportedly hit rock bottom in the upcoming Season 5 of “Orange is the New Black.”
There are speculations saying that Daya will most likely be sent to the Special Housing Unit (SHU) in the aftermath of her gun-pointing offense where she shall reportedly experience the lowest point of her life.
There are also rumors saying that the reason why Daya would be sent to the SHU is because she actually shot Humphrey and the move was part of her punishment.
It is not clear though if Humphrey would be alive after Daya shot him but it further led to subsequent speculations that her alleged boyfriend Correctional Officer John Bennett, played by Matt McGorry, might be returning as well on Season 5 of “Orange is the New Black.”
