She added that Taystee will change the biggest in the upcoming fifth season of “Orange is the New Black” due to return on Netflix in June of next year.
She lost her mother and then she lost her best friend Poussey to a murderer who has yet to be identified so she will turn into a character who is ready for war.
Brooks said that Taystee will be very different from the happy character that inmates and fans have come to know her since the beginning of “Orange is the New Black.”
The idea of a very different Taystee also promises to add more chaos to Litchfield Penitentiary which might result in more deaths.
The upcoming fifth season of “Orange is the New Black” shall also provide an answer to the cliffhanger whether Dayanara, played by Dascha Polanco, who was last seen pointing a gun at the head of Humphrey, played by Michael Torpey, would really pull the trigger or not.
Polanco said that her character is in a dark place, having been a victim of circumstance, which seems to be a cycle in her life that just keeps on repeating.
The actress said that she can see Daya pulling the trigger on Humphrey because the character is suffering from postpartum depression. She explained that a woman going through that kind of depression is very sensitive and fragile.
