Speaking of Piper, Taylor Schilling’s Piper Chapman is really not everyone’s favorite character on the show right now and that might even take a turn for the worse as Piper is bound to get more destructive and dangerous in Season 4 as she will have some difficulties controlling her life.
In an interview with Bustle, Schilling says that the more control Piper has, the more she craves for it, regardless of the cost. The 31-year-old actress describes her character as someone who is very flawed hence she does what she does.
Taylor then defends her character by claiming her actions are purely driven by the loss of her sense of self and that’s when a person no longer has a sense of who she is as a person, and that she has nothing more to hold on to.
“The Lucky One” actress also admits that she is fully aware of the general dislike towards her character among viewers which is why she hopes that Piper finds her ultimate redemption in Season 4.
Taylor says that Piper is searching for ways on how to control her experience as an inmate, but there are some occurrences wherein her ways tends to be critical and perilous. She hopes that Piper will one day come out of her senses and finally ask herself why she tends to do borderline cruel things.
