It is already confirmed that Caitlyn Jenner will not be coming to Season 4 of the American comedy-drama TV series “Orange is the New Black,” contrary to previous rumors.
But latest reports are now saying that former pop sensation Britney Spears may agree to a guesting stint in the fourth season of the popular TV series when it premieres on Netflix next year.
It is actually actress Taryn Manning, who plays the role of Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett in the TV series, who is lobbying for the cameo appearance of Britney Spears in Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black,” details iDigital Times.
Manning made the disclosure during her recent interview with Entertainment Tonight when she said that she wanted the “Oops, I Did It Again” singer to join the cast of “OINTB” for next season.
She said that she really wants Britney in the show because the singer is such a good actress that the producers of the TV series can actually do anything with her or give her whatever role.
Taryn added that she was so impressed when she had the opportunity in the past to work with Britney whom she described as very sincere in her acting. She went on to say that while everyone was hoping that Britney would not be a good actor, but she was great. Taryn and Britney worked together in the movie “Crossroads,” details the Vine Report.
While the cameo appearance of Britney Spears in “Orange is the New Black” Season 4 is still speculation at this time, the actors who are already confirmed for next season are Brad William Henke, Mike Houston, and Kelly Karbacz.
The return of an old character
While all eyes and ears are focused on the development of stories of the main characters in the TV series, there are reports that the most hated Vee, played by Lorraine Toussaint, in all of Litchfield Penitentiary might return to Season 4.
In a recent interview, Toussaint said that she does not think that Vee is dead. She adds that she would not be surprised if she gets a call very soon from the producers of the top-rating and very popular “Orange is the New Black.”
She said that Vee is not yet dead because she is just hiding somewhere. She is hiding out but is confident that Vee will resurface somewhere or sometime in the show and that she will be coming back to the show really mad.
No new love interest for Sophia
Meanwhile, Netflix has just debunked rumors that Caitlyn Jenner will be coming to Season 4 of “Orange is the New Black” to take on the role of the love interest of transgender character Sophia Burset, played by actress Laverne Cox.
During the third season of the popular TV series, Sophia was abandoned by her friends in Litchfield Penitentiary, which is why her character will apparently find support from the rumored character to be played by Caitlyn Jenner.
The rumors also indicated that Caitlyn’s character will also help Sophia stand up against her bullies at Litchfield.
It was evidently noted in Season 3 that the penitentiary will be bringing in more inmates as the two-person cell has been turned into a four-person confinement. This sets up the premise that Litchfield would be bringing in more inmates as well as security staff, and thus new characters in the TV show, for Season 4.
According to a source privy to the show, Caitlyn’s rumored entry into “Orange is the New Black” would come in a perfect time because she would be able to help Sophia show her bullies that she can fend them off. Jenner’s popularity is also expected to draw more viewers to the show.
