It used to be the case that pretty much everyone was skeptical of the idea of a Web-based show. After all, TV was seen as the essential platform for distributing content of this type, and it was seen as a pointless venture to try and attract a satisfying number of viewers through other means exclusively. And yet, Netflix has managed to prove that not only is this an entirely plausible concept, but it can also work quite well when done right. “Orange Is the New Black” has been a total hit, and the upcoming season 3 already has lots of fans excited.
Still, producers of the show have been relatively quiet about what’s coming in the new episodes, and the show’s development has generally had an aura of mystery around it. Recently however, some information was revealed about one particular character of the show – none other than the undisputed favorite of the show’s fans, Crazy Eyes.
The spoilers were revealed in a special column at TVLine, and according to the brief paragraph, Suzanne will be left in a “broken place” when the new season begins. It seems that the creator of the series has been toying around with the idea of introducing faith and belief more strongly as plot elements, although it’s not clear how exactly they plan to do that.
Another thing that was mentioned in the column which has had many fans excited, was the announcement that the show is expected to be renewed for at least several more seasons after the upcoming third one. Of course, this seems to be more wishful thinking rather than a definite confirmation that the show will be renewed – after all, it’s not exactly up to the producers to decide that in the end anyway.
So far, the exact release date of the new season isn’t known. It’s been confirmed that it will be made available sometime in 2015, and details about the new plot developments have been somewhat vague. A few details have been confirmed though, including the fact that Piper Chapman will have a more prominent part in the new season, something which fans have been asking for a while. The character didn’t see much air time during seasons one and two, even though many fans and critics have pointed out the huge potential behind her.
Rumors also claim that she’ll get back together with Alex Vause, although this hasn’t been confirmed by the show’s producers. The rumors are allegedly coming straight from the set though, so there might be some credibility to them in the end. Fans will find out in a few months either way.
